(cont) LOT of pain and anguish and because I was a new believer I lacked patience and perseverance in the faith and fell away for 9 long years. The Lord punished me to bring me back, and here I am today. This was 20 years ago. My brother was a Luke 8:14 believer who believed in the gospel and was growing for a period of time, but when he came to the US he became preoccupied with pleasures and became a carnal believer up to the very day of his death. It's very common among a lot of Christian

Thank you Pastor Greg, It's the cares of the world can really sneak up on a person, I have to remind myself everyday. Some think if you don't focus on the cares of the world, you are coping out and not going to succeed. Wow. I see that the only way to succeed is to "seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven". I fall down sometimes and get disappointed with myself. Please keep me in prayer. I know about 1John 1:9 but I don't like to fall.

Good sermon brother. The parable of the sower. Jesus clearly said that the First soil was unsaved. All the other 3 are saved Christian's bearing much, little or no fruit. Genesis 8:22 as long as the Earth remains there will be springtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and night.

The true meaning of the parable of the sower is this: when anyone hears the message regarding the Kingdom and does not understand it - the evil one (the selfhood) snatches away what was sown in his heart; this is what was sown along the path.
As for what was sown on rocky ground - this is he who hears the message and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself - but endures for a while - and when tribulation or persecutions come on account of the message - immediately he falls away.
As for what was sown among thorns - this is he who hears the message - but the cares of the world and the delight in riches - choke the message and it bears no fruit.
As for what was sown on good soil - this is he who hears and receives the message and understands it; he indeed bears fruit - and yields - in one case a hundredfold - in another - sixty - and another thirty fold.

We also have to remember that abundant growth or fruit, stunted growth or fruit, or no growth or fruit at all during certain times of a person's walk with God has to do with sanctification, but NOT justification which is FREE. Entrance into God's Kingdom is FREE, BUT discipleship which is a sanctification issue is COSTLY.

Soooo true...it's critical!! I was raised in a Christian home knew all who Jesus Christ was and did, but never had a personal relationship until I was 16 saved and baptized. The change was instant, shot off like a rocket!! Joined the Marines at 19. No real or very little discipleship until I was 24, married in a whole different country! I am 38 now and just now would call myself a "mature" believer.

Pastor Greg, I'm just starting to understand this. I've been saved since I was 14, I'm 57. But maybe not. I came to the Lord for the love I wasn't feeling from anywhere else. After a couple of years struggling in church to loving God but no one, my family or kids in church, understood. So lacking the "love" I was looking for I went to the world & all that means. So now I stand as one who has flowed in and out of trying to read God's Word, have love for myself (not happening) and others (definitely not happening). I don't think I'm saved, and if my concern is only for fire insurance - I definitely don't think I am. I sit to read, then... I try to love others, then... I try to want to go to church... - All these things I do, but not with a heart of want, if it weren't for my husband and daughter I probably would have stopped long ago, & probably would still. Though salvation isn't found in works, proof of love for God apparently is. If you love Me, you'll keep my commandments. If you love someone you'll trust them to have your best interest & you'll obey. I guess I don't. My personal time with God is OK, now I'll start...But... If you're carried away by the cares of the world, are you saved? Can you hear? If you pursue God then stop, were you ever truly saved? Now I'm confused, scared, & waking up to the fact whenever God gets in my way of what I think is best, I leave - at least mentally. Many have appeared to love God then denied Him in the end. Is it because they did not continue pursuing Him? I'm thinking of Charles Templeton. I'm concerned for me & my family and I guess that's what the Bible means by you must work out your own salvation. You either love Me & keep my commandments, or you don't. Anyway this certainly explains the darkness I feel always, the depression, & the fact that I'm not who I want to be. Now, what do I do? If I start reading, having true joy again going to church & having a relationship like I did when I was 14 - and stop again, then where am I? Saved, not, & if that's all I care about - then what?

I don’t honestly believe that in these days we can stay in fire for the Lord. However, be true to God and to yourself. Be steady in believing and prayer, and make time to listen.your faith is in Him not what others teach or say. We need God more than ever now. I’m with you on this. Its a test of discipline over the flesh. No one has ever taught deeply on this that I know of.

    • @peggyjen2338

Hi Debbi, It’s so easy to think that loving God is hard because we strive to love people and yet too often people can’t be pleased, and we feel that no matter how hard we try, our love is just not enough. And it’s true that our love is often not enough. But God is fully aware of that, yet He still desires our love. I’ve come to learn that loving and honoring God simply means spending time with Him being 100% yourself. I used to feel that I needed to say the “right” and “holy” things to God in order to show my love to Him and be loved by Him. But then I looked at David in Psalms who often just goes on and on and on whining, complaining, and questioning God before he finally chooses to remind himself of God’s mercy, love and power and then be lifted and comforted by God who is always so patiently and lovingly listening to us,ready to give us rest. I learn to just dump whatever feelings, anxiety, fear, doubt... on God and just vent. ( Cast all your fear, worries and anxiety on Him for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. The original Language cast means to hurl, like throwing trash into garbage truck.) When I tell Him my true unedited feelings and thoughts, it’s showing my trust in Him, trusting that He loves me no matter what and however sinful or dark my thoughts are, He can handle them. And most importantly, in addition to feeling safe enough to be my real self in front of God, I also desire to hear what He has to say and ready to do it. That’s when transformation happens. He changes my heart, fill it with strength and hope and joy. When we do this on a regular basis, gradually, we become more and more like Christ. So if you feel carried away by the cares of the world, that’s ok. Just tell Jesus that. There’s no condemnation. Tell Him you have trouble trusting and understanding His ways. But ask Him to help you with this struggle. After doing your part of confessing, then let Him speak to you through His Word or circumstances. But be willing to listen and obey. We start with little faith an little faith is what He needs. Prayers and hugs for you💕💖

Hi Debbie, hope you’ve had a great week before the weekend. Anyway, Salvation is not a feeling. It is a gift you simply receive from God and has no bearing on how you feel for the moment or even a stretch of time. God is aware of our struggles and even when we fail.
I was in the Marine Corps in 1985, I asked God to bless me, as I reminded him how good of a Pharisee I was 👈🏼. He spoke to me and said, “It’s not that you deserve anything, but to establish my covenant with you.” Gifts are given to you and depend on the giver, not to whom the gift is being given to. Since that day, I have fallen down and even backslided and come back. Don’t you think God was aware of my mistakes and rebellion that I would commit/omit in the upcoming years? Of course He did, and he still decided to bless me . He’s not gonna fall off his throne, just because you feel like you didn’t measure up to his standards.
Just recently, I was telling God what a screwup I was, and how I felt so unworthy, and He said to me, “you never were”.
God gives gifts to us and he doesn’t take it back. Enjoy your salvation and praise him every day for Jesus’s sacrifice for us. Take care !

In the Parable of the Sower, the statement in Luke8:6 that goes "and when it came up" indicates initial plant growth that became hindered and stunted because of lack of moisture. In Luke 8:7 the statement which goes "which grew up with it and choked the plants" indicates that there again was initial plant growth, but because of the thorns the growth became hindered and stunted. I am repeating this because I vividly remember in my backyard the aloe vera plant that I still have that at one time

If the Parable of the Sower were talking about a loss of salvation or unsaved people then Peter and Solomon would not be saved because Peter was on rocky ground when he denied Jesus three times and Solomon was on Thorny ground when he got caught up with wealth, pleasure and the concerns of his world. He even repents and claims “All is vanity”. This is talking about carnal Christians. Only the seed on the wayside represents the unsaved.

    • @woofbark4475

Peter was certainly aware of his sin. It's not like he didn't care and walked away from the relationship. He simply knew that he denied Jesus despite saying he wouldn't. And he certainly reaped! So why would he lose his salvation he denied Jesus but knew that it was wrong and turned back. It's not like he totally left God and the seed in his life didn't grow.

    • @monsterhuntervideos4446
      @monsterhuntervideos4446 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@woofbark4475 He didn't lose his salvation and that's the point. The seed on rocky and thorny ground doesn't represent people who lose salvation, rather it represents believers who are saved, but get caught up in the cares of this world or buckle under pressure when faced with persecution. That's exactly what Peter did, but it had no bearing on his eternal salvation. Only the seed on the wayside represents the unsaved. Peter went from being on rocky ground to being on good soil. A weak believer to a stronger believer.

It does require a bit of more in depth understanding...we all would need to think hard about which soil we all individually represent or if we need to ( metaphorically ) soften our ground, add some more nutrients or remove those thorny weeds until we may reach that more rich fertile quality...

(cont) in the past became "withered" because of excessive sunlight. I immediately removed the potted plant into the shade where I began watering it with rice water ( the rinse water from washing rice) which contains nutrients. I did this for about a month and eventually the aloe vera plant started to show signs of recovery and now is a full grown plant again. Again, I reiterate that "withered" in Luke 8:6 and "choked" in Luke 8:7 does not indicate dead plants.

There is only one group and that's the first group in the parable of the sower that did not believe it is Satan's job to take away the word that was sewn into a man's heart so that they would not be saved as soon as man believed man was saved the other three groups they were saved but only one group produced fruit

  • @wtom04

(cont) of hindrances. "Withered" in verse 6 and "choked" in verse 7 does not indicate that these plants are dead. "Withered" and "choked" imply atrophied growth - growth that is hindered, but not dead. Luke 8:13-14 also represent believers who possess eternal life, but again, because of hindrances in life their spiritual growth goes to a certain point and stops. The Luke 8:13 Christian "believed" for a while, but when the going got rough, he or she falls away. This person becomes discouraged

If you take away the false assumption that this parable is about the gospel, and see the symbolism of the lake is identify purification of the heart you’ll gain a much deeper and right understanding of this important teaching from Christ.
The PATH is referring to the heart of the FOOL (Proverbs 1:7). The STONY heart is VIOLENT person (Proverbs 16:29). The THORNS is the ADULTEROUS person (Proverbs 2:16).
This is why Christ told the people: “If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.” (John 5:46)
The people had rejected the Father’s Instructions in favor of their own laws and traditions which robbed them of the revelation of Christ. Today man-made doctrines and traditions are what keep people from the revelations that come from the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:14 “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.”

The plants that are described in Luke 8:6 and Luke 8:7 indicate that these are also Christians who possess eternal life. In verse 6 states that "when it came up" in the NIV indicates that the seed germinated and grew to a certain point and stopped because of a hindrance. In verse 7 in the NIV it says the seed "which grew up," again indicating that initial growth had taken place, but then stopped because of a hindrance. There is no indication in text that states that these 2 plants died because

(cont) eternal life. We have to remember that eternal life is a FREE GIFT that is attained INSTANTLY at the moment of FAITH with no strings attached - Ephesians 2:8-9. The word "FAITH" is repeated 12 times in Galatians 3. In Romans 4 "faith" is repeated 6 times. In Romans 5, "faith" is repeated twice and the word "gift" is repeated 5 times. It is wrong to conclude that after a person comes to faith in Christ that that will automatically guarantee that the Christian will be a Luke 8:15 Christian.

Evangelists with good intentions rush people to recite a prayer to be saved. But we should teach seekers to count the cost and not rush them. Also many people recite a prayer, but they don't truly repent or put their trust in Jesus. When you pray to receive Jesus, you have to be sincere.

Pastor Greg Laurie, I am a new believer and I respectfully disagree to the assertion that only one out of four will continue on. Yes there are the 4 conditions of the heart and the seed will not take. But the sower doesn't sow just that one time, they sow year after year, months after months, days after days. Through grace, compassion, and love the sower can excavate the hard path, remove the rocks, and clear the weeds to get that fertile soil. All the people are the children of God made in his image and can be saved.

8:6-7, and Luke 8:13-14. Incorrect doctrine will always affect how a Christian interprets God's Word correctly. If a Christian does not have correct doctrine then they can very easily live in ERROR and believe in something that is not true and they will very easily misinterpret Scripture.

denominations to label the seeds of Luke 8:6-7 and the people of Luke 8:13-14 as unsaved people. I know for a fact that people who embrace Calvinism/Lordship Salvation theology have a strong tendency to do so. Their allegiance and belief in Calvinism/Lordship salvation theology only allows them to believe that there is ONLY one category of Christians and that is the Luke 8:15 Christians. This is simply not realistic because there are also Luke 8:13-14 Christians in the world that do possess

I dont think you read the 2 d seed correctly. The seed with no root says that this person BELIEIVED for a while.

and becomes an apostate. The one described in Luke 8:13 is saved because this person BELIEVED. BELIEF/FAITH in the gospel of John 3:16, John 5:24, John 6:47, John 10:28-29, Romans 8:38-39, Acts 16:30-31, Luke 23:42-43 results in INSTANTANEOUS ETERNAL LIFE that cannot be lost no matter what. In Luke 8:14, the latter half in the NIV states that "and they do not mature" indicating that there was initial growth to begin with, but became stunted because of hindrances. If there was initial growth to

In view of Matthew 7v21, only the last soil is a Christian: only those who do the will of the Father belongs to Jesus. All the other soil/hearts/hearers are not Christians. The (apathetic/curious, hear but did not hear) mocker, the people-idoliser who fear ‘people’ problems like potential unpopularity/mockery/persecution like Pilate & the passion/world-distracted like Herod who loved hearing John the Baptist but never repented. Moreover, you shall know them (those who are true) by their fruit, so, there is no such thing as a totally fruitless true believer.

It is wrong of Christians because of Calvinism/Lordship Salvation theology that they embrace to come to the erroneous conclusion that Luke 8:6 -7, and Luke 8:13-14 do not represent true Christians that are saved. They are saved and I and my brother and others are living proof. Calvinists/Lordship Salvationists such as MacArthur love to use Luke 8:8, and Luke 8:15 to support the 5th point of the Calvinistic TULIP which is Perseverance of the Saints, but they deliberately IGNORE and write off Luke

This is not fruitful enough information on The Parable of The Sower. Remember it’s given to those who diligently seek Him through out continued learning of Him and His Word; (it was given to His disciples Only) to know the knowledge of the Mysteries of The Kingdom of Heaven; so why didn’t u drop that info out there for this mystery?? How does one obtain the knowledge of these mysteries if they already have faith and have roots??? They cultivate the land where the seed is sown....they spend time “considering” the Word long enough until understanding, perception arises from that consideration and they then obtain knowledge and all 4, consideration leads to perception, perception leads to understanding and understanding leads to spiritual knowledge and all these put together leads to Wisdom. One cannot have proper Wisdom in these Mysteries without cultivating(considering) the Word of God long enough, diligently and thoroughly....and one won’t be led to consider unless the continue learning diligently in the Word of God....nonstop everyday all the time...👨🏾‍🌾🦁📜🙌🏾🔥🧐👍🏾🤯💯🍞🥖
