As soon as artist alley opens up on day 1. I went straight to your booth. I was very excited that you completed the strawhat crew and the shaker. Went to fanime like 0400ish. So worth it to buy some of your stuff.🎉🎉🎉
One thing I learned from another vendor was to include the sales taxes into the posted price since every show I've been at has been in an area that requires collecting taxes. For instance, this tote bag has a posted price of $30 but $1.70 is the tax and $28.30 is the actual cost of the bag. I've got a slapped together spreadsheet that calculates backwards from the total pretty number price to make sure the math all works out and post by my payment methods signs that sales tax is already included in the sticker price. (It also make it where I don't have to carry coins!)

How the heck did you do this yourself?? I would be so drained omg!! I know anime Boston where I am the artist alleys go until 10pm!! It’s insane I can’t imagine how exhausting that is.
It's more so common for my more non-local cons like Fanime and ACEN since attendees would rather buy more items in-person to avoid paying tax and shipping costs! Or for bigger events such as AX where attendees will often save up money for the few cons they attend
I've thought about it, however Fanime dealer's hall is incredibly difficult to get into (years long waitlist) and typically with fanart and my type of work, Artist Alley is sometimes can be more lucrative than vendor hall
That's so weird that your helper can't make sales in your place. I do sketch commissions so it's nice having a helper handle stuff while I focus on the sketching. I guess they're there to help watch over your stuff and record and package things, but why would they have you pay so much for a helper if they can't fully be a helper? Very weird to me.
So with venmo, do you pay for charges yourself? If you're a business account i think they make you pay a percentage for sales. So do you pay it since you dont tax the customers?

Some people just go up and ask if the artist is interested in trades! I personally don't do them but it's best if you have a photo of your booth so you can show the artist what items you have so they can make a decision then and there

Thank you! I'm looking into microphones since I tend to get embarrassed when filming by myself which is why my voice is lower during those times 😂
