Thanks so much for posting your video. My GreenWorks reel mower is several years old and I was having difficulty getting it to cut the grass. I assumed the blade needed to be sharpened, so I was looking on-line for that info. Luckily I watched your video showing the blade adjustment located beneath the mower. I didn't know this adjustment existed! I immediately tried your paper cut test and sure enough, the blade needed adjustment verses sharpening. Wow! What a great discovery. Another revelation was the oil at the cutting line. That made a great difference on the smooth operation of the mower. The mower works better than ever! Thanks again for these transformational tips. You made my day!

thank you for showing what to do about a screechy reel mower. I've used mine 3 times so far no problem - got it out today and couldn't use it due to the noise!!!!

Thanks a lot for confirming what took me half an hour to figure out yesterday..derr....although mine is the contrary, the rotating blade is touching the "bed knife" preventing rotation entirely.

i read online that you can adjust the blades away by adjusting the screws on the side

i just purchased one at a yard so for $10 and cuts great. A little loud/squeaky, but seeing you added some WD40, I think I will do the same. thanks

I leave a gap about the thickness of thin paper; keep both blade and bed knife edges sharp. Because of non-contact, the mower is easier to push and the reel cylinder rotates at higher speed and therefore cut better with speed.

What is that lil tool u used to adjust the blade height? An Allen wrench?

Yeah like a hex wrench works

I want one of these. Someone threw one away down my street, the blades didn't turn.

blade could just be stuck on the bed knife and it just needs to be raised.

@@DirtygardenCA I might walk down there and get it. My landlord doesn't cut my grass often enough.

@@DirtygardenCA I got it, just like you said... blade was stuck on the bed. Looks kinda new and doesn't even need blade sharpened. My grass is kinda high and it was hard to push at first and I have it raised all the way up. I'm glad I got it.

Almost had an entire comments section without a negative Nancy. Then you came through and pooped all over it.
