This is Eminem's song from the times when he was being criticized for his vulgar lyrics. And this clip is Eminem roasting the parents for trying to push *THEIR* responsibility on Eminem. Basically what Eminem says with this video is: "What the fuck do you want me to do, put on a cape and go around like a superhero *DOING YOUR FUCKING JOB* ? You're the ones in charge of teaching your kids what they can and cannot listen to. Not me. YOU!"
Now you have to react to Eminem Houdini. It is the sequel to this video but 20 years later. Houdini is currently the number one hit single in almost every country.
Watching Knox Hill’s breakdown of Houdini might be even better in order to quickly bootstrap a more complete appreciation for what Em is doing lyrically.
@@SuperMegaImbaLordwell, that's no different than us when we first heard Eminem back in the day lol We never understood a lot of his references until we got older. Saying any different would be a downright lie lol
You definitely gave it your best shot. You need almost 30 years, during the actual times of release to fully understand. With collabs, features, underground records... You're going to have over 500+ songs that all need repeated listening. It's not going to be easy, but this man is a national treasure.
Not at all, Gen X has you beat by a mile, so do the Millennials. Your generation just regurgitates words, no real meaning, nothing deep, all superficial just like Gen Z...lol
Eminem is the goat in my opinion. He was and still is a huge troll. Shady is like an alter ego of eminem. This is a lighter and feel good track. God speed if you decide to go down the eminem rabbit hole.
Rap god might be a very suitable reaction right after this one to change the tempo and understand his technical side, but still vibe to it. It is one of the greatest hip hop songs ever created. Good commentary ✌️
Sing For The Moment is a really great song by Eminem, and his delivery is pretty slow throughout, so that may be a better song to go with if Without Me was a little too quick. There's also Stan and Rock Bottom.
An artist is highly recommend is Ren. It's hard to put him in a single genre but he does have some strong rap elements to many of his songs. And as an independent artist he relies on reaction videos to help promote his material and is hugely supportive of the reactor community as a whole. The song High Ren is most peoples introduction to his material and is a long but very introspective performance that I'm sure you'd love.
This song references the situations happening in the world at the time this song came out. I wouldn't expect someone as young as you to get the lyrics. Those were different times.
When he said “f*ck you Debbie!” He was talking about his mom who abused him and she sued him after he made a song, and in one part of the song he says some bad stuff about her.
If you are interested in getting into this genre music. I would recommend watching Knox Hill , The Third Ernest and others. They go into the songs and break them down. Explaining flow, rhymes, pockets, cadence, etc.
Eminem just dropped a new album, I would love to see reactions for his classics, try Mockingbird it’s slower and more focused, but you gotta check out his new album.
Now, just after this clip, you could watch "Lose it" , "A$$ like that" then "Houdini", the last clip put some cameo of the previous 2000' eminem's video clips. In this video, the fact he diss Mobi (then many others) about his music and at the end B*n Laden (at the time it was risky to make a joke after 9/11).
Rap is really a language of its own and trully only rap lovers and rappers get it. so most of it isn't important. I would say that for people like us who aren't into rap, you can relate to the vibe, to the music and to some catch phrases. so it's ok. it is a fun and nice song and vid
Haha this is very slow for him... By the way you're just in time, Eminem just released a new album, and one of the song is a continuation of this one: Eminem - Houdini
Another recommendation for funny songs is trying Weird Al Yankovic. You can hear Bad by Michael Jackson and Fat by Weird Al in sequence to understand the style of parodies 😂
As a guy that's into hardcore and lyrical rap, recommending the right ones new to rap is kinda hard. I would say Tech N9ne, Hopsin, Canibus, RA the Rugged Man, Wu Tang Clan, Busta Rhymes, Ludacris. These are just off the top of my head. I kinda skipped out on most of the 2010s and up to now, since it got too focused on flexing and swag over lyricism.
I recommend getting into Led Zeppelin. They're the definitve rock & roll band of the 60s and 70s. I'm 69, and grew up listening to them and a lot of other bands . . . For TV series, many reactors are doing Fallout. Another recommendation I make highly . . .
Do Mobb Deep Shook Ones pt2!🤙 edit: what other reactors fail to do when reacting to hip hop is that they sometimes never branch out of eminem definitely try to give other artists a listen too 🔥🤙
Yeah if you're choosing old Eminem to explore older hip hop rap, it's going to be VERY chaotic. He loves being controversial and crazy. And he raps very fast. This song is like medium speed 🤣🤣
insane that people look back at old songs and then say their generation wouldn't let it slip... thats the point. there used to be a sense of humor and people were not complete self absorbed clowns
If you think that was fast, you should check out Eminem/s video Rap God where he got inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records for fastest rapping at 8 words per second.
Some say em is too old and washed. This girl barely passed 1k views on her usual clips. She did this and has 10x more views in few days. And this is a small example

No she's gotta do the whole discography of eminem
@@adriantrujillo2485Exactly she's gotta know Eminem more before she gets to his new stuff
Watching Knox Hill’s breakdown of Houdini might be even better in order to quickly bootstrap a more complete appreciation for what Em is doing lyrically.
unfortunaly she won't get 95% of the references. (probably)
@@SuperMegaImbaLordwell, that's no different than us when we first heard Eminem back in the day lol We never understood a lot of his references until we got older. Saying any different would be a downright lie lol
Ive never listened to hip hop before....I'll start with Eminem.
Ohhh boy😂
That's what I did started with constantly listening to Rap God for a month to memorise it last year
She’s in for a ride …glad I started when Dre first signed him… have fun Gen Z peeps!

Bless you! Eminem is a very difficult artist to understand and appreciate. I really appreciate YOU for trying it out
Eminem knows he shakes up the world in Hip Hop. He makes other rappers step up their game.
Eminem could have been a Marvel Comics artist he's multi talented.
GenZ opened the doors to the greatest music

no he is not there are way faster rappers.

You are sooo damn cute and funny! Glad I found your Eminem reactions!! This is my first watch and I LOVE IT! Can't wait to watch more! Subscribed!! :)
You should watch Eminem" movie called 8 Mile. Might help with understanding the rap world.
"This is not sped up right", love it.
If he is talking too fast it just means you're listening too slow. :)
Eminem is the goat. 👑
Your facial expressions: Priceless!!!❤
Slim shady is the best persona of Eminem

Knox Hill is fantastic.

Eminem - when i am gone!
Yes to this!
Try "Rap God" or "Godzilla" if you want fast for Eminem.

I forgot how hilarious the “clean version “ lyrics are.😂
If I had to name my two personal favorite Eminem songs, you should react to:
1. Stan
2. Sing for the Moment
By the way, when he says f you debby, he's talking to his mother. Lisent to the song cleaning out my closet for some contexte.
Slim Shady is back 🔥
Even in Germany Eminem is well known!!!
So different than what I thought ... also my GF's reaction to fight club
Easier to understand songs from Em:
Eminem - When Im gone
Eminem - Mockingbird
