    Defenitly One of the most underated cars from Mclaren

    I own the 2020 HDK 570s Spider and paid $275,000. There is nothing entry-level about this car. The Artura will not pack the same thrill with a V6 no matter what they do to the car. The 570s will go on to become a collectible and its value will only increase over time. Used 570s are selling at appreciable prices. Thanks for the video!

      Hey I am looking at buying this or an Audi r8, in the UK you can pick up a nice one of each for circa £70,000 how have you guys found the reliability? Any niggles? Coming from a range of German performance cars (m5s/cls63s) etc I am used to good reliability and a not too dissimilar performance?

    Can you talk about reliability and maintenance over the 5 years? Great video.

    • @CassianLevinson
      @CassianLevinson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! McLarens can be very hit or miss with reliability. The 570S is a step in the right direction from the older McLarens like the 12C. But the things that can tend to go wrong are more so electrical than mechanical. I have friends that have never had any issues with their McLarens however

      You would be buying an F1 inspired car, so expect the car to need matched service. Is it worth it? There is NOTHING like a McLaren and the thrill of the drive! I have had minor things happen...that's it...in two years. They "things" were simply me trying to tweak a squeak or rattle, etc. One of four radiators (the driver's side high temp radiator) had a minor drip from a poorly seated "o" ring--a minor fix.

    I wish I had the courage to buy one, all the stories about very expensive failures and cars sitting for months waiting for parts, I bought a Porsche which I love but Mclaren makes the cars I like the most

    • @CassianLevinson
      @CassianLevinson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Totally understandable, they are pretty hit or miss when it comes to reliability. Some have no issues and many have little faults and lights that come on constantly, they’re getting better with each car though, Porsche is an excellent choice!

      As an Aston Martin V8 Vantage , and Jaguar F-Type SVR owner... those are just part of the "British Car Ownership Experience". (Be glad you're not interested in a Lotus.. now THERE'S a line with issues...).
      My Jag has actually been extremely reliable, and gets relatively great mileage (~ 29 MPG highway cruise per Imperial/ Canadian gallon (4.5 liters)...
      The Aston, I refer to fondly as "Quirky". Some days it's great. Other days weird things work or don't work; nearly always electrical in nature: windows that won't go up, or down or sometimes either or both. The pop-up screen not opening, or closing for no reason, or just turning off and going black. The climate controls jumping to full on and full warm when you just touch the fan for A/C ... the infotainment forgetting you ever had a phone synched to the car via bluetooth... the airbag sensor getting upset that nobody is sitting in the passenger seat, so now the airbag needs service...etc.
      Nearly all electrical problems can be avoided by using a battery tender when you are not driving the cars ( including the McLaren) every couple of days. a fully charged battery seems to prevent a lot of computer related or electrical issues.

    2016 570s coupe vs 2015 650s at the same price, which would you choose having analyzed both? Prob not ever going to track, maybe once or twice if at all.

    • @CassianLevinson
      @CassianLevinson  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Man that’s tough, personally I’d probably go with the 650S because it’s a tad quicker and also has that plush ride quality that the 570 doesn’t obtain. 570 is a bit easier to get in and out of though, and has slightly better tech inside. But try and drive both if you can because they do feel slightly different
