    Pretty sure this is going to lead to a proper cryogenic stasis.

    How much public money would be saved if we dried out convicted criminals for the duration of their incarceration then just added water on their release day.

    • @designer-garb572
      @designer-garb572 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @Joe Curry I am not sure you understood the point of my comment' I am not suggesting that drying out the criminals would somehow rehabilitate them and turn them into law-abiding citizens, I am suggesting that it would save a lot of money as they would not have to be fed or housed or looked after, in the UK it costs upwards of 40k a year to look after 1 criminal, the savings would be huge.

    • @TheKyleFyles
      @TheKyleFyles 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They understood you fine, putting a criminal in stasis doesn't do the work of keeping them incarcerated. It's not about removing them from society, it's about rehabilitating them.
      Jail sucks, and is a deterrent of crime. If I could be sentenced, to 40 years in jail, but only feel a few days have passed, theres no deterrent for me to break the law again. It would save money, yes, but remove the purpose of prison.

    • @designer-garb572
      @designer-garb572 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheKyleFyles Whilst you have a valid point, career criminals will spend their lives in and out of prison, I am not sure that the current system does an adequate job of rehabilitation and aftercare to transition ex-criminals back into society, so a 40-year sentence that was over in a flash for the criminal would allow the victims peace of mind and like I said in my original post would save the taxpayers a huge amount of money, tbh mine was a glib comment and not to be taken seriously as I am sure that there would be many protests and cries of human rights if it was even possible. I was just trying to think of other applications this could be used for, so maybe lets scrap that one and think of something more doable.

      @NajwaLaylah 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Joe Curry It doesn't always make them nice guys to let them spend 2/3 of '60' years in prison.

    • @NajwaLaylah
      @NajwaLaylah 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheKyleFyles It's about separating them somewhat from society *while* rehabilitating them, or we'd leave them wherever they were and just make them attend classes.
