    The hydra is very cool! Bought the 350 2 days ago and flying is very fun! Started 4 days ago with stunt kites and after a little training everybody is a pro. The 3. line is very cool and the hydra has a lot of power. Next step is to buy a cheap harness, quick release attached to the bar and go kiting with a surf board. Very cool that u can use it in water. Maybe I switch to the 420 size

    Just bought a Hydra 420.....love it. Can't wait for the ice to melt in minnesota and take it out on the water. Been flying it around, just waiting for warmer weather.

    ALL HQ kites are guaranteed so if the comment below is TRUE the buyer didn't even bother to contact the seller or HQ. He most likely flew the kite in winds well above the manufacturer stated safe wind speeds. I have been selling these for years and NO problems at all with the Fluxx series trainer kites. They are the BEST entry level power trainer kites on the market.

    Hi Chris, Thanks for the great video. I have the hydra 350. It gave me a bit of a mauling when the wind got too strong. Must try again in light winds. Will it pull me on skis on packed snow? Also can a little tension on the third line act to depower the kite while I test the wind? Tim

      Hi Tim. The Hydra is a fixed bridle kite, so the third line will bring the kite down as a safety, or to park the kite. Adding a "little" tension to that line will only add more power to the kite, as it settles further back into the window.
      In the right conditions, the Hydra will work as a sail for kitesking. I'd suggest add a fixed loop to the bar to remove pressure off your arms.

      @@ChrisHQKites Hi Chris, thanks for the reply. I will try the fixed loop idea when ready. I know the benefit of such from my windsurfing. Tim

    Can you also use the Scout III for kitesurfing or is it just for landboarding?

    • @ChrisHQKites
      @ChrisHQKites  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't really be used in the water.

    Hello HQ kites, with SUP becoming SUP Foil - have you tried to ride with a HQ kite and did you go upwind ? Which model would you recomand ? Thx a lot

    • @ChrisHQKites
      @ChrisHQKites  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never tried to ride on a foil with a Hydra but I suspect it would not be difficult to go up wind. You would want a larger surfing style foil. A Hydra 350 or 420 could work. Let us know what you discover!
