    *Zen Steel Set* - bit.ly/3xb4Ui8
    The *XDEEP* Zen Steel Standard BCD is a modern, tough backplate and wing setup for the modern diver. The steel backplate adds some trim weight and the standard harness lets you create a custom harness that can be adjusted to your shape, size and requirements.

    I watched your vid this morning and I purchased the Zen steel set by XDEEP this afternoon. Thank you for this tip, you're the man.

    I'm a very happy owner of an Aluminium Zen. The only *slight* problem is that the central location of the inflator causes the corrugated hose to rub against your neck if you're only wearing a rash vest. Otherwise it's a fantastic piece of kit. BTW my Alu Zen didn't come with a scooter D-ring fitted on the tri-glider at the front of the crotch strap.

    i have the ALU version of this, and its pretty damn amazing, Few issues but none of them are dealbreakers. Took it out under a snowstorm in februari in sweden. and it held up amazing even had to knock of some icebuildup on the backplate at the surface.

    Great video and some nice ideas of xdeep putting the weight belt over the shoulder straps and the double crotch straps. You should've put it on and showed how it fits and works.

    So I'm deciding between these and OMS dive. I know close to nothing about the plate systems but they were recommended to me. Is it worth it to wait and order a Xdeep zen?

    Got it almost a month ago; have about 35 dives, and am REALLY happy with it. Went from a hybrid back wing to this my first BP&W. Love the unique shoulder strap routing into the belt; love the “Y” crotch strop. VERY easy to establish neutral horizontal trim while diving, yet still very comfortable on the surface floating upright. I have the AL backplate, so an ideal travel BCD. Suggestion: for the price, K-style inflator should have more rugged metal construction. Dove in tropics wearing only a rashguard and the backplate was completely comfortable against my back. The provided tank cam bands are fine (plastic buckles) but I prefer the more straightforward metal cam bands. All in all, am VERY happy with this purchase, and would consider buying a steel plate XDeep Project when I move into a twin tank tech configuration.

    Do you know if I can carry with me bailouts using xdeep zen or it can't lift such weight?

    Had a custom one in my basket for a couple weeks now. Maybe this unboxing is the sign I need to just pull the trigger and get it.

    I got this one for travel with an alu backplate. The inferior stability was not worth the 1,5 kilos weight saved. Will be getting the steel plate separately if I ever get to travel again. Otherwise fantastic product.

    • @DavidRibasDaCunha
      @DavidRibasDaCunha 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      what do you mean by 'inferior stability' ? I'm asking as I've just purchased a zen with an ali backplate, but was even considering the ultralight nx backplate.

    • @erikhoffmann1252
      @erikhoffmann1252 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DavidRibasDaCunha I bought my zen for tropical diving to save weight in the luggage. With a steel plate you don’t need additional weight plus having that weight spread over your back makes for effortless trim. The alu backplate wasn’t very comfortable, definitely not as good trim and stability as my old steel plate, even when using trim pockets.

      @@erikhoffmann1252 Thanks for your inputs, valuable as I'm thinking about buying an XDeep kit (vs a Scubapro SeaHawk otherwise). When you say the alu backplate is not very comfortable, do you mean vs another shape of backplate within XDeep's range, or vs steel, or vs padded? Any other issues or glitches with those kits? Thanks in advance

      @@e.d.4824 hey, I love xdeep stuff! I have 2 of their bcds and their regs. Highly recommend the zen kit, with a steel plate.
      I think it’s more a general thing, a steel plate is just way better in the water. The 1 - 2 kg weight saved with an alu or composite plate are not worth it imo.

    If cost wasn’t a consideration, would you go with: XDEEP, or Hollis, or dive right, or…?

    • @simplyscuba
      @simplyscuba  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      XDEEP. They're on top of their game right now. The other brands are perfectly fine, but they're still quite traditional, whereas XDEEP are improving things and coming up with new concepts that work to make diving more comfortable and practical

    I got the alu version and it's amazing. With that i need no weight already, so the stainless steel version would make me overweight... although I dont really know how to use the quickdump valve and I'm not sure if I should use it with a twinset
