I made a video here : th-cam.com/video/PURg5MMiekE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VFMDnobj2pQvqApB where I go through all of my aquariums and whats inside. I'm making an updated version soon!
Thanks for the videos, Scoobz!! Do you plan to upgrade tank sizes for your eel in the future?! I currently have a 20 gallon tank and have been wanting to upgrade and get an eel at some point. he freshwater moray is my number 1 choice; I'm just not sure what would be the best minimum size for an adult, since i've been seeing alot contradicting info online. I've been looking at the Fluval Roma 240 but I don't know if that would be big enough for a fully grown adult.
Thank you! and yeah I was planning to eventually upgrade to a fluval roma 240 (mine is the 200 and my eel is completely fine). I think a 240 is definitely big enough, Tiger morays kind of just find a nice spot like a cave and spend most of their time there so just make sure there are loads of hiding spots and caves
@@ScoobzNPetz good to know!! I’ve seen a lot of sites saying that fire eels, tire track eels, morays, etc would all need 100+ gallon tanks and I don’t want to commit to something that big until I know I’m not going to be moving for atleast a couple years haha did you end up getting your moray at your local fish shop??
@@efcee_us4881 yeah it’s always good to have a back up plan though! For example if any of my fish get too big, I know my local fish store are willing to take them in 😁 and yeah I bought it from my LFS, couldn’t believe it when I saw them!
Got 4x Angels, 4x clown loaches, 2 rope fish, 1 pictus catfish, 1 gold nugget pleco, 1 Sailfin Pleco, 1 Sailfin Molly, 1, assorted gourami, 1 half banded spiny eel and 1 zig zag eel... 2x freshwater morays, all fish seem to be fine with the morays, however the morays don't get on at all... They are like Noel and Liam Gallagher
Hey, my eel is completely happy in my 200L so that would be a good starting point however i should mention that my eel is juvenile and may need an upgrade when shes fully grown
I had her with a fire eel for about 3 months before I moved her to a bigger aquarium. There was no problems at all, but I should mention that they were both similar size
I want to get a tiger moray but I have African cichlids and have heard mixed opinions about it. Do you think it would be a dumb idea to put one with African cichlids?
Theres always a chance that the moray may eat any of the fish that can fit in its mouth but generally as long as the eel is fed it should be fine. I don't have any experience with african cichlids though so I can't say how they'd react with the eel
I’d say so yeah, as long as the tank is cycled. I’ve seen others describe them as hardy too. I should mention that it can take them a while to start eating when you first get them, mine didn’t eat for a week. But once they settle in they’re fine. My water temperature rises in the summer and even there she didn’t give me any problems
Scoobz , I'm your 101st subscriber , if you're ever in Texas , hit me up I always got a fat bowl and a cold beer !
Thank you! Really appreciate the sub bro! And for sure man, always down for that 😂
Hey do you have a video / list of this tank stocking? Pretty inspired to replicate this (minus the moray they cost $350 USD where I live)

And don't forget, cories are spiny, some are even venomous, so if your eel eats one it could cause some major problems.
Yeah youre right, luckily my cories are too big to be eaten right now but when my eel grows bigger I'll definitely keep that in mind!
Where did u buy the eel?

Your tank sounds nice!! And yeah I’ve heard that sometimes morays get along with everyone but themselves lol 😅
@@ScoobzNPetz it's getting better, still loads of tannins that really annoy me. Eventually they will go, many water changes later.
@@sambradshaw3222 Yeah patience is key when it comes to tannins 😂
Awesome tank, I would think that morays would get along, but I know some species are less social than others.
im going to get a eel and im thinking on getting a tiger moray but im struggling with tank size can you tell me a good size for the moray eel

100 gallon
th-cam.com/users/shortsygojOX7-g_Y?feature=share you don't want something like this in a 55 gallon! Get 100 gal atleast
