    Thank you very much for the awesome training on Oracle Groovy implementation. I would definitely love to see more of these kind of videos if possible.

    Nice presentation, although at some point, I started drifting off 🙂. But anyway, regarding groovy closures, I think the casual mention in the presentation suggesting that they are similar to java's lambdas was very simplistic and almost misleading, especially to a newbie. I think java lambdas and groovy closures are day-and-night apart, from their syntax to their capabilities. Groovy closures set the language apart from most other programming and/or scripting languages in use today. They leverage the concepts of "owner" and "delegate" in addition to "this" and "it", and the concept of resolution strategies. These characteristics make groovy closures incredibly versatile, something which java lambdas have totally no awareness of. And this is without even mentioning meta-programming capabilities. Just thought it was worth mentioning
