I have a Chibson greeny. Obviously not like your one. But it’s been a fantastic guitar and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had the same arguement with people I know in regards to the copy slash played when they point out mine is fake. They use that same stupid “yes but his is made to the same standards as a real 59 Les Paul , it’s not a Chinese fake”. I think they have come to enjoy Gibson going in dry and leaving them prolapsed. Great video man!
Those 20%ers must not have watched your channel before. I have been with you for years. I remember before you ordered this one You told us exactly how you wanted it made. I Love it. Thanks Mike
@wallyinthebox1 Thank you Wally. You have definitely been here through it all. Thank you so much for your support and friendship. It is greatly appreciated my brother 🙏.
Damn man, you didnt hold back in this video, I love it lol. People that talk shit on the internet are the lowest form anyway. Keep doing what you love, I'll keep watching
Was a big Garry Moore fan so must be in the 1%. Will always see the Original as Greeny - not even Greeny Moore. No beef with Kirk but literally the signature model came out before he had chance to unpack it from the auction... whereas Greeny and Garry owned and played it for a good while...but whatever. Nice guitar
Very good analogies.... I will never part with any of mine! My last Custom shop is unbelievable!! I changed everything. It came with a Bone nut, i replaced the P/Up's, Switch, Jack plate, cts pots etc... im going to definitely add orange drop capacitors, They do make it sound better! I couldnt believe fret work good already etc. ....almost a mill on action no buzz, intonated perfectly. I like it better than my Gibson SG 87' and its awesome too. Truth is for the money... you cant beat it! I did luthier work myself..... Love your videos.
I love that you pointed out the fact that all anti-Chinese manufacturer folks are actually using Chinese products to post their statements... You are right - there are fantastic builders that are not located in the states. Awesome guitar and sounds killer. Congrats on owning something this good. I recently won a M-Musi Fusion on another channel give away and it is awesome. I posted a vid on my channel unboxing it..
Mannnnn that Greeny sounds f'in AMAZING. I love how you give it right back to all the haters Mike. It doesnt make one dam bit of difference what name is on the headstock or who made. If they really loved guitars, they would understand that. Glad to see the V is alive and kickin. Look forward to the Firefly review, I've been following them close lately.
Hey Mike, I appreciate the time you take to make and present these guitar reviews and demos and I loved the Guitar Center video. Whether it’s Hammett or Green or Moore really shouldn’t be the issue it’s the guitar itself that is of interest and matters the most. Bottom line it’s a killer guitar! It’s just too bad everyone on the internet has to stick their two cents in and whine. I hope your mom is doing well.
First off, you're correct-it's a nice-looking guitar. Guitar Center-not perfect, but they're usually sweet people. You know what I’ve noticed about the Guitar Center dudes? If you just respect the fact that they’re musicians-and a lot of those dudes are very good players-they’ll act totally cool, as much as any guitar store. I think what pisses them off is when you treat them like they’re working at JC Penney. Understand: a lot of the guys at Guitar Center can really play! They’re dedicated musicians-I mean, they work at a guitar store. People and their opinions... I agree, man. I always bring up Eddie Van Halen's totally hacked-up B-stock, not-intonated piece-of-shit guitar. Let’s be honest: it looks like a stoned college kid went at it with a chisel. Now you've got guys chasing Van Halen’s guitar, which is hilarious. I guarantee if Eddie hadn’t turned that guitar into a spaceship when he played it, nobody would give a shit about his guitar. I’ve heard many people (big stars in interviews) mention that Eddie’s rig was impossible to play through-except for Eddie. I love that you just made yourself what you wanted, man. Great way to go. That’s how I like to roll as well (difference being I’m a Strat guy).
@yngvebalmsteen9174 I can not recommend that guitar, I have mine all sorted now. But it took a lot of work. The neck and frets are amazing. However, everything else was just rushed and not finished correctly. I literally upgraded everything, and I have way too much into the guitar. Sometimes, ones come along that I just can't recommend. Even from a great seller. This one was a dud.
After Mark Greasy and his leather jacket and filthy t-shirt threatened to sue everyone in the world, I was done with Gibson. I still loved my Epiphones. LPs and Korina Explorer. I got a couple of KILLER Chibsons and swapped out the pots and pickups, got a fret job and set-up, and they are smokin LPs. Wouldn't trade them for real ones.
man that guitar is the shizzell yay yaaa!!! my "off the shelf" chibby that i put them vanson "59 chromebuckers" in is a sweety too! not sure if you saw it....might look like peter greens when it was newer...thats the look i was after anyway lol! ill do a "piddle-jam" film with it soon in case ya havent seen it...
Thanks brother. I've been playing catch up. My mom has been sick so I haven't been watching a lot of videos. But I will be playing catch up. I'll definitely check it out. 🙂
I never knew about a chibson greeny until FSB's videos! Thank goodness I happened upon these videos! Yes, I bought one from Cathy Zhong because of them. I feel it is the best guitar I will possibly ever own unless my slash one ordered is better. But I don't see how that can be! Maybe as good? Waiting patiently for that one that I dont need, but want! Thank you FSB's
I have reason to believe these people are hired by Gibson to make bad comments. I can't see any other reason for a person to keep putting Gibson on a Pedestal. Anyone who has ever owned one will say they are overpriced and built like crap.
The boo hooers cant grasp that Kirk really values the guitar for what it is,who played it and wants to continue its legend by doing whats meant to be done with it... play it. He is its very proud keeper now so they will just have to deal or move along lol. The guitar looks great... screw the haters if you are good with it.
Is hate the wrong word? If something doesn't quite float my boat, I'll down-vote it but its definitely not hate. I love Warren Dimartini, George Lynch and Jake E Lee but Id feel a bit naff buying one of thei replica/tribute copies. Not to say I dont love watching people enjoying opening a new guitar, regardless if its origin, colour or shape 🤘🎸🤘🤘. Kirk is a huge Peter Green and Gary Moore fan. I feel it went to the right person. Now it is a guitar that has seen so many genres, of music. And has proved itself as a legand in Itself.
