I love Ethan’s never-ending respect and love for young people. There are many older actors (and non-celebrities) who constantly speak poorly about younger generations, but never Ethan Hawke.
This is the best fillm I've ever seen about an author! The sequences of Flannery's "real" life intersperced with bits from her stories was so well done. Choosing to use the same actors to play the parts from the stories was also great and gave the sense that her life and art were one and the same. I've rarely seen a film about a female writer, or artist that concentrates on the work. This for someone like myself who has spent a lifetime with visual art is an inspiration! Thank you Ethan and Maya for a great film!
I know that theres basically no chance of Maya seeing this but if you do, i just wanna say that every time i was at my lowest, i would always watch a show or like a movie you in it and i feel so much better and it just gives me reasons to live. Your musics heals me always and i just love you so much. You are the most incredible person i’ve ever seen, made me realize how amazing people can be in so many different ways.. i was losing confidence and everything but you just make me feel so much better. I hope this doesn’t sound weird or anything like im obsessed w you but your like my big sister maya and i love you so much❤️❤️
I loved how, as he always does, Tom Power created the most thoughtful conversation about this movie, and about faith, society and life as a young woman. Thank you!
I finally got to see "Wildcat" about a week and a half ago. Loved it! It wasn't easy...it was only in my local theatre for a couple of weeks, and I missed it. I had to wait for streaming. I can only say, "a good movie is hard to find"!
Flannery understood she was unique at a very young age. She accepted the impossibility of her having a traditional life experience, especially after her health problems started.
Just saw the movie. What a terrific blending of O’Connors real life with her works. The scene with Liam Neeson playing the priest is profound: “All human nature vigorously rejects grace because grace changes us and the change is painful.” This is so very true. How often do we cling to our vices, preventing the healing grace of Christ to transform us.
I've never seen a human that love humanity so much as this guy. Sir Hawke, my depper respect. Sorry of my english, i'm spanish but i meant what i said if that was comprehensible.
Flannery just came into my life last summer thanks to the good ol' local library so I'm very much a novice on her but I hope to see the movie next week!🙌
Ethan Hawk will hopefully go down as an absolute legend if he's not already. Also, he shouldn't have been a supporting actor in Training Day. He was the MAIN character. We never see a moment in the film where he is not on screen. That always irked me.
anagram for "The Power of Love" faisaint sûrement référence a la séquence dans Deadpool 3 and "O' Connell" from the 1999 movie "The Mummy" with Brendan Fraser who won an Oscar last Year for the movie "The Whale" where he plays an Obese with eating disorders
What an absolute waste of an interview, Mr Power. You spent almost the entire time talking about racism instead of taking about Flannery and her work, most of which served to point out the horrors of racism not uphold it. Good grief.

Twill be you one day
Maya and Ethan have such a loving and beautiful bond. ❤
Fantastic interview. One of your best.

Wow. Both Hawke's are so Insightful. Beautiful thoughts here.

Both are very smart and deeply introspective... It's refreshing among so many ego-driven people in entertainment

This was one of the best interviews for depth

Their communication and mutual respect is beautiful 🙏

I've had a crush on Ethan Hawke since White Fang, but it's his mind that I find most attractive. What a beautiful Man❤
The truth is Ethan and Maya are in the same room 10 feet apart (ha ha). Can't wait to see this!

Is that Umma's daughter ?
Yep.
imagine asking this question instead of doing 3 seconds research
Ethan Hawke played the "discovered" father of Elora Danan [Devery Jacobs] in Reservation Dogs... granted, not a film.
