I personally don't trust this brand but the work they're doing is quite evident when you see the brand deals, commercials, sporting event invites, and collabs with big-name players from other sporting leagues that these players are getting along with the attraction of many players towards the Sharks team... So they are doing bits and pulling strings. Rugby and the players do need money, so a conglomerate like Roc Nation will surely attract more outside investors and for the short term with limited options, it is kinda a Win-Win.
I for one want rugby players to earn well and for rugby to grow in popularity globally, but this segement with The Agent had my internal alarm bells going off like crazy. I do not trust Mr Micheal one bit.
I think rugby needs all the investment it can get. It has been dying since 2011 or so. Crowds decreasing. Regardless of your feelings about the man, The Sharks, now supported by ROC Nation, are looking up and things seem good - the players are happy.
yea i think 1 thing americans dont understand is tht as soon as thy open ther mouths ppl frm the british speaking world immediatly think 'bull shitter'
Do I trust Me Michael… I don’t know, but rugby does need to move forward, modernise and we want our top players earning big bucks - it’s good for the game! Unlike a lot of people in the comment section, I don’t see this as all bad
This is my opinion as an american, Rugby is my favorite sport, it deserves to be way more mainstream. It needs to be more commercial in terms of reach to aundiences. And these players are top notch and really should be paid tons of money, but I don’t know if I’d bring Americans in. Americans don’t give a fuck about the athletes or rugby, they care about money. They are using Syiah as a pawn being the first black captain. It’s obvious to me that this probably isn’t the best of ideas, I don’t know if anything bad will come of it. But I think it tarnishes this game that seems to be incorruptible bc of the class of man it takes to play it. But what do I know I’m just a dumb american
there is a need for the US and how they do things but dont make international rugby like the US! i think they have great ideas forgetting the crowds back and making clubs profitable!
Rugby players are greatly underpaid compared to pros from many other sports and in addition their careers are generally shorter and so need all the boost they can get to make the most of their talents and opportunities.
Only started watching rugby regularly in the last 2 years ( I come from a former English colony , so knew of rugby). The main reason for my interest is because of gentlemen playing the sport now ( not like 80s and 90s , most brutally has being taken out. ) and it was not largely commercialised. If it becomes like NFL , it will quick lose appeal fall just like the NFL ,I estimate NFL is 1 law suit from dying , so in next decade or so.
@@TheWebdex but the talent in rugby league in Australia dwarfs rugby union is my point, nothing to do with world wide appeal because in Australia all the athletic kids play league
MLS is a disaster. Piss poor ratings despite what MLS fans will tell you. They'll try to conflate fanfare of soccer in the US among emigrant-background communities with the MLS itself, even though most of them either watch their home country's league or the big Western Europeans leagues and rarely give af about MLS. The expansion fees are out of control, when they actually should be implementing a 3-tier promotion-and-relegation system with the UCL and NISA.
I hope they all get what they are due. But rugby is minnow sport and US sport is business and cutthroat. Please read between the lines all this limo , busniness class flights , personal assistant. , marketing etx. Will be in their annual account. Pasop kuwena.

Rugby teams need to run huge squads as well so its not like the NBA for example where you're only paying 11 guys.

Crazy, they need to come to OZ and tap some of this Rugby League youth...so I'm more clear tap rugby league talent for rugby union..

True, lot of talent in Oz that's why I think wallabies are not as good as they could be, because lot of union players end up playing league.
