Clearly top level fighters! 💪💪💪 That’s a fight! Personally I couldn't even say why Daigo lost. But I can see that when you're caught in the rut of Ryu's combos, it's difficult to extricate yourself from them. His Shoryuken is as powerful as Gouken's in SF4. Daigo also rivals in ingenuity, creativity and mastery in his sequences: it's just phenomenal 🔥🔥🔥 In any case, I never tire of seeing these two fight, it's exactly what I expect from a fighter of their caliber 👌
19:00 😳 As a Ryu player, I need to start buffering SA 3 whenever I'm in a close range fireball war now. Because this is sick ass hell. Looking back at it now, I think its possible he was also just buffering SA1 in case the fireball hits him again, but since SA1 and SA3 share the same directional inputs as each other, YAS had the ability to pick between using either. And then once he saw that Daigo threw a fireball of his own, he pressed Kick to cancel in to SA3 instead since it goes thru fireballs. I really wish we could see their inputs in situations like these. What's fascinating about it is that Akuma doesn't actually have any extended hurt box on his hands when he throws a fireball either. So in a way, it was almost kind of lucky that YAS got that exchange off. Because if people didn't know, Ryu and Ken has extended hurt boxes on their hand when they throw a fireball, but Akuma for some reason does not.
Let's take it easy, this isn't official, they're just playing. Daigo is probably still the best there is in long sets, and we don't even need to go that far, just look at what he did with Tokido in SF5... And if that's not enough, I'm sorry, but you don't want to see
@@hex0rify While Daigo is amazing in long sets, the idea that he's "still the best" doesn't hold up as much today. Recent results show that other players like Tokido, iDom, and Kawano often outperform him in tournaments. The competition has evolved, with newer players like Punk and Problem X excelling across different formats. Even Tokido has frequently bested Daigo in SF5 majors. Daigo’s still great, but the current scene is way more competitive, and it's hard to say he's at the top now. YAS whipped his butt.
@@Puff_Chady you are looking at things from the wrong perspective. Tokido won practically everything in sf5 makes him the best in the game in fact, however, since he saw xian being destroyed in a 10x0 he trained for that moment, where he would beat daigo in a long set, and the fact that he won everything is not the he became the champion of this set, of a daigo where not even the top 8 could reach properly. These are TOKIDO's OWN words, it's not me translating. Let's go to another point, you are analyzing md3 to md5 matches in tournaments and online sets. Daigo made his name in the topanga event in Japan, which takes place every year in the S division, it was there where he accomplished these feats, as the tournament has a lot of prestige in Japan. These moments were created to see the level of others in relation to the daigo (simplified speaking). And names like infiltration, xian, tokido.... were massacred. It is not my opinion, or guesswork, and in fact the story told. And that's why topanga should be considered as in fact the long set, and not short championship matches or online sets. Daigo can lose, he can and today he shouldn't even be top 8 anymore, we have names like punk, menard, leshar, kawano among others, they are fantastic players. I hope I understand it's just the story told, and based on the story we shouldn't analyze online matches or games outside the topanga format since this tournament is crucial to the whole story when analyzing long sets, that's all.

He’s in good shape I think it’s just the how the game is akuma fits for the way he wants to play the low health sucks but that’s was always a problem for the character so he has to play good offense and near perfect defense
This dude yas humiliated daigo like I have never seen before 😂😂😂. Good stuff seeing new blood on the block, at this point Daigo should call it quits in my opinion, he is getting old therefore his reactions wont be as good as when he was younger. I know this from experience.
I have never seen anyone beat Daigo this bad. It was overall close, but he is markedly better than him in these matches. Usually, it's the other way around.
Ryu has always been the simple but highest if not one of the highest dmging shotos in SF history tbf EDIT: also lets not forget Akuma's vitality is lower than everybody's hp in this game
if daigo lost, nobody can win w/ akuma. akuma is good for beating noobs only. Tell me if youve seen an akuma win a pro tournament. he doesnt have enough health to beat a pro
YAS is becoming the new Ryu ambassador
Wish it was Daigo
This is like him fighting himself kind of.

Because Akuma is weak in this game
@@MatheusQz not exactly :
he has powerful blows but his resistance to blows is low. Therfore, his best defense is attack.

This is like a canonical battle haha. New warrior vs an old master. Excellent fighting
Daigo needs to switch up back to Ryu. Ryu's hits clearly give more damage than Akuma..
Best Ryu player I've seen in 2024. 👍👍👍👍
