Thank you so much for making this documentary on the city I was born in. We moved out of Fall River in 1962, when I was 7 years old, to Southern California. I have Polish ancestry on my mother’s side and English, Irish, Welsh and French on my father’s side. I also do genealogy quite extensively. I was tearing up while watching this. What a splendid and professional quality job, fit for television. Well done!

Rest in peace Mrs. Wrobel! The sweetest woman and an incredible preservationist of Polish culture in the South End!

Wow. My grandmother was almost entirely deaf for decades. She was born in 1911 and was working in the mills by the late 1920s. I came along in 1973 and I never remember her being able to hear well enough to carry on a conversation. Sweet lady. Recently found a picture of her in the newspaper when she was in a school play at the Notre Dame Parochial school whatever it was in 1922. Had never seen an image of her in childhood. She looked like a goofball! Gone now. RIP Blanche Marcille (Durante)

So many landed in Fall River. It is Massachusetts ELIS ISLAND. A lot of great things and people have come from Fall River. That day unfortunately is gone.

I remember watching this film at the heritage state park when I was younger I also remember going on the battleship Massachusetts the big mammie sad to see it falling apart from wear and tear it’s hard to get parts for things they don’t make anymore I can only imagine how this city was back in its heyday when all the mills were booming and the Fall River line was still in operation I don’t think any of the mills are still making anything anymore the companies took off and moved to china or wherever we need to bring back manufacturing in this country

The Portuguese made Fall River boom. They were the dominate force. In my humble opinion. Everyone deserves credit. It was a great time and the people were proud.
