People with PTSD for example will quickly neutralize perceived threats. Approaching someone in a threatening manner and encroaching on their personal space will be perceived by some people as a threat to their safety. Yeah I have PTSD and this type of situation terrifies me. When looking in hindsight it can be hard for many to understand the asymmetry between the threat level and the response but it was actually quite proportional if we’re talking pure risk analysis; an unknown is a risk. Besides his approach being (obviously) antisocial it was also EXCEPTIONALLY *vague*, which for me and by extension I assume other people, can be the absolute most alarming part of any encounter. It’s like being scared of the dark but in the abstract. Actually I think that almost 90% of my constant “threat scanning” is actually just an effort to sort out the ordinary vagaries of peoples’ behavior- could be as simple as somebody parking near my apartment complex in any sort of unmarked car (that doesn’t clearly indicate a purpose, such as a dominos driver or a work van). Took me a while to realize this because it mostly happens at a subconscious level Forgive me if I’m preaching to the choir but I’ve worked with some professionals who didn’t seem to wholly grasp that aspect of it. No sleight to them whatsoever, but figured it might be a feeling worth sharing given your line of work

One prank TH-camr went into poor - and violent - neighborhoods to mock poverty. BUT to make it worse he pranked the locals. I thought the judge delayed sentencing on the discharge of firearm in public place for a few weeks, but that is the last charge yes. Colie's lawyer is fighting that the charges can't be separated (regarding sentencing) so if you acquit on one, you have to acquit on all. I "think" this is why the judge delayed, so it can be researched. I did a quick search and could not find anything that he has been sentenced on the discharge yet, but i could be wrong.

Actually I think that almost 90% of my constant “threat scanning” is actually just an effort to sort out the ordinary vagaries of peoples’ behavior- could be as simple as somebody parking near my apartment complex in any sort of unmarked car (that doesn’t clearly indicate a purpose, such as a dominos driver or a work van). Took me a while to realize this because it mostly happens at a subconscious level
Forgive me if I’m preaching to the choir but I’ve worked with some professionals who didn’t seem to wholly grasp that aspect of it. No sleight to them whatsoever, but figured it might be a feeling worth sharing given your line of work

These types of pranks are “why” he got shot in the first place. Like many parents, we now have to tell our children how to react when being harassed like this. Ironically, we tell them to “say stop 3 times and then defend yourself”. The video is very telling. He takes off his glasses and makes his “prank” face where he squints his eyes and his mommy LAUGHS, like he is so cute. It makes it clear her remarks were disingenuous, and simply coached by the defense lawyer. They clearly think this whole event is a joke and don’t care the poor guy trying to protect himself is still sitting in jail. Also ironic is that daddy is not with them during the interview, even though daddy previously commented about his kid being a “good kid”. Dad’s absence shows the parents can’t even come together now to teach their kid what he is doing is wrong. It is not a leap to infer the parents probably antagonize each other, and that is where their son’s behavior is learned. I thought the judge delayed sentencing on the discharge of firearm in public place for a few weeks, but that is the last charge yes. Colie's lawyer is fighting that the charges can't be separated (regarding sentencing) so if you acquit on one, you have to acquit on all. I "think" this is why the judge delayed, so it can be researched. I did a quick search and could not find anything that he has been sentenced on the discharge yet, but i could be wrong.
