Improving the roaming experience for mobile users globally | AWS Events

The experts discussed BICS' journey with AWS Cloud adoption and their recent announcement on local roaming breakout, which brings content closer to mobile users for improved experiences. BICS started working with AWS in 2017 by forming their cloud team expertise and are now moving core platforms and services to AWS.
The local breakout solution was jointly developed with AWS and SK Telecom, enabling next-gen use cases like AR/VR while drastically improving webpage load times for roaming subscribers. BICS and AWS aim to scale this globally and optimize it further using AWS capabilities like Graviton instances.
Looking ahead, they will explore areas like network transformation, API monetization, and continuing BICS' transition to cloud-native SaaS solutions, enabling new revenue streams.
