- Trp. J. Bass (H-25) stops a speeding motorist near Third & Garrison Sts. in Fort Smith. When the driver discovers he has a warrant, he flees.
"I'm not getting out. I would rather crawl out of my window in a few minutes after you have trashed my car. That seems like a better idea and pick up a felony with it!" I have no words!!! Great job ASP!!!!
All other craziness aside…anyone else extremely impressed by how the officer handled his hat during the whole altercation?
How does someone talk to a police officer like that? Guess my parents raised me different. Just disrespectful as hell.
I loved how the trooper was able to save his campaign hat from the top of the fleeing car.
The trooper was being polite and professional. I dont get how so many people think they have the authority to revise and interpret laws as they see fit. One thing is for sure, the guy made getting his 💩 together a lot more challenging.
Once again, a person made a minor situation far worse and dangerous than it needed to be. Whatever he had outstanding, now has felony resist and evasion. Now he gets to be a special guest at the grey-bar hotel, no reservations required, where he can pile on more regrets in life. I'm glad the officer wasn't injured when the car took off like that.
Trooper Bass is a very professional and reasonable officer to deal with. He actually wrote me my last ticket. He could have gotten me for quite a bit and only wrote it for expired tags. But the actual stop is between 4th and 5th streets on Rogers Ave.
When shorts and sandals and job fairs are both involved, no good can come of it.
Just watched again, and I see they're chucks... not that it really makes a difference 😆

The officer is obligated to take you in when he finds out you have a warrant. The conversation is over at that point.

I think courts should treat running from the cops as an automatic guilty plea to whatever the want was at the point the person fled.

That police officer was cool, calm, and collected. When the perp took off on the stop, the officer was smooth as butter. When he elegantly retrieved his hat off the roof and slowly stepped back as the car took off, I thought that I was watching a segment on “Dancing with the Stars.”
In Texas and Arkansas, you lose your trooper hat, you might as well resign. They’re sacred.
