Konosuba has the perfect comedy recipe. Kazuma and Gang keep changing between Reasonable and Dumb at a constant base, so the "Straight man" is generally the focus of the episode. I Love this season because Darkness is mostly the "Straight Man" in the Punchline.
I loved this episode. The gradual shift from complete screw ups to the genuinely heartwarming moment where Darkness defends Kazuma and he shows his humanity and gets the princess to open up a bit was wonderful. I didn't expect Kazuma to be stolen by a child, though.
If I could post an image of the guy walking with his girlfriend while looking back at the other girl labeling the guy and his girl Kazuma and Lalatina, and the girl he's looking at Iris, I would.
Supplementary info and LN changes (a bit late, but here it is.) 1:33 - Royalty aren’t related to nobles like Darkness and you already saw her family. Only notable changes is that Darkness in a maid outfit was a chapter longer with jokes/scenes and Claire’s attack on Darkness was bloodier/graphic and that it was meant to cut through her wrist, but Darkness is just that durable, even without armor (she caressed Iris with the bloody hand, so it made that scene more intense.) To compare, Claire is like the counterpart to Darkness and is a well-known knight with the nickname of ‘White Suit’ (she wears a white suit for men most of the time, so she’s a tomboy and based off of Snow from Combatants Will be Dispatched!), which she was supposed to be in during this scene. Iris herself is based on Alice Kisaragi, the Android from Combatants and both are in the same universe (multiverse?) which is why there are similarities. 2:18 - Kazuma wanted a little sister since S1 (and earlier, according to this LN.) 8:00 - LN clarifies that Iris does this, because she doesn’t want to converse with people of low status, which adds to the slap later (to add, house Dustiness contributed tremendously to the kingdom and Iris knew Darkness in the past, which is why Iris let a lot slip by.) 13:01 - Steal targets the target’s item they value the most (most women value their chastity/pantsu) and Kazuma’s Luck is high, so the RNG is basically nullified. 13:29 - The mage reassured Iris in the LN, by saying that she sees him as the type that dotes on girls like her (indirectly accusing him of being a lolicon, as stated by Kazuma and matched Iris’s early perception of him in the LN.) Little changes: no scene of the Party playing with a Gameboy (Aqua stole one from the factory in LN 5, but wasn’t in the movie), Kazuma showing his gaming skills, by taking no damage from the last boss and indirectly flexed that he could get them back to the same place in a few hours, and Kazuma recounting that he got beat up by his parents by wanting them to divorce and remarry, so he would have a younger step-sister and expressed his desire of wanting a younger sister in this world.
