How does this compare to the 2019 Nuna RAVA. Do you have a preference? Trying to decide if it’s worth waiting an extra few months for the KNOX.
I was hesitant to purchase an open box carseat but it came in excellent condition and saved $35. Box was damaged as stated before I purchased it, but the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxIxQe7nPH74g_xtI5NgiE9-zpGNkfgovw car seat looks brand new and I don't think it was ever used. I will update of course if I have any issues with this carseat but I don't think I will. Also it is surprisingly lightweight, the handle feels secure unlike my previous EvenFlo that was gifted to us. Love it !

How does this prevent it from rotating. I know they say this, but the tether has to run either on the left or right side... Would that not cause the car seat with forward momentum to pull to either left or right depending on the placement of the tether? A true no rotation would be exactly down the middle... Not to one side or the other... No??

Bout damn time time a convertible seat offers an anti-rotation feature since Britax made the epic fail of stopping the Australian tethering!

What happened to the Knox. All mentions of it are gone from Uppababy's website. I was looking forward to this product, but it appears to be gone now :(.

HI!! I've been searching for the Knox and it seams to be sold out EVERYWHERE and they don't even advertise it on they uppababy website. Did they discontinue it? Thought I'd ask you since you are my go to for baby gear info. thank!
They had a bit of an issue with the first run of Knoxes so they had to take them off the shelves. Hopefully it will be back soon.

Hi Vanessa! There are no convertible car seats that are compatible with strollers - only infant car seats.
What’s the best recommendation for space saving in rear facing for a small car? Considering the Britax boulevard click tight.
Tim Haddix the diono and the clek foonf are 17 inches wide, which is narrow and space saving. That’s what I’m researching too.
The Clicktight is a good choice, but I'd also look at the Nuna Rava.

Those car seat are great because the are narrow - only 17" wide, but they are long and dont' fit as well front to back.

I have a Subaru Forester which is big and the cybex still goes into my front passenger seat space, it’s awful. There’s no room for a passenger!
How does the tether work in a car that doesn’t have an adjustable headrest? I have a Tesla Model X, and many tethers for forward-facing seats don’t work and slide down the sides of the seat. This tether doesn’t seem like it would work well with my car. How does this tether compare in terms of safety vs the anti-rebound bar of a Clek or Britax seat?
To clarify - I know that this yellow tether is for rear-facing, but I just think it would slide down the sides of the seats in my car similar to the issues I have with forward-facing tethers. Thanks!
Not from Magic beans. But with enough hunting I know you'll be able to find the side-by-side crash test of the Cybex Aton 2. It shows the Atom 2 installed with and without the load leg side-by-side. It shows that reducing rotation prevents most of the rebound. So while I'm a little disappointed to see that this has no anti-rebound feature, I'm WAY happier that it has an anti-rotation feature, because it is actually more important!
I'm a mother of 3, ages 13, 10, and 3. My oldest was in a Britax Roundabout until just after 2 when we were in a pretty bad side impact crash. I kept her rear facing til her second birthday (this was back when they were still just begging parents to keep babies rear facing to BOTH 1 year AND 20 pounds!) and LOVED the Australian tether for what was considered extended rear facing back then. When I went on to have my youngest, and she outgrew her infant seat, having had the misfortune of crash testing Britax with my own child, I naturally went for Britax again. I can't repeat the slew of expletives that I was spewing when I found out that Britax made the epic fail of discontinuing ALL rear facing tethering! It was perfectly logical for them to no longer allow swedish tethering, which is where the thing attaches to the floor/seat in front since they came out with the anti-rebound bar. But it was a bleeping idiotic move to remove the more important safety feature of Australian tethering, an anti-rotation feature that no other seats had or have aside from the nearly useless (by today's standards of use/capacity) the Combi Coccoro! It's a safety feature that needs to be getting phased INTO the American market, NOT OUT of it! I still bought a Boulevard ClickTight for the ease of use, capacity, and Britax's crash performance record. Of course one of the American companies FINALLY grew a brain, but too late for my youngest. She just weighed in at 38.6 pounds so she'll probably be going forward facing pretty soon into the new year. But seriously, I'd like to know WHY it has taken so long for ANYONE to introduce another Australian style tether! It's the only anti-rotation feature that could possibly become a requirement on American seats because of LATCH requirements, in floor storage compartments, and the ancient FMVSS213 test buck that only has lap belts (not to mention all the vehicles still on the road that are only equipped with lap only belts in the center seat since they weren't actually banned until september 2007).
So, in summary, the anti-rotation feature of an Australian style rear facing tether prevents the seat from gaining the momentum it needs to rebound in the first place.
Hey - thanks for the video - can we use the knox with the vista stroller? do we need a attachment? also do you know the weight of Knox?
You cannot place the Knox as a seat on the vista. Only the standard seat that comes with the vista, infant car seat called mesa, and bassinet or any other infant car seat that has a car seat adapter (like graco, Maxi cosi, clek liingo, clek liing, nuna Pipa, chicco, etc.)
If your looking for a toddler car seat that can be placed from car to actual stroller look into an orbit baby. Thier car seat toddler, is rear and forward facing, also rotation of 360°. But they don't have a new car seat yet. It will be out in November of this year.
Knox wieght is around 33 pounds.

Not to our knowledge, though that may change. The pre production model we saw at ABC was about 18 inches at it's widest point, which wouldn't allow it to seat 3 across. Sadly, it was not the finished product so there may be some slight changes in the meantime!
