- Another great radio swap at the Shoreline Community College. This swap is held annually in August by the Puget Sound Antique Radio Association, and features all sorts of vintage electronics and paraphernalia.
Managed to score a few neat things this year, too!
Unfortunately your video is way too fast to even get a clear picture pausing every few seconds. Next time have someone else film it who has more time and can go a bit more slowly. Fly-by videos are too hard to watch.
Sorry. I'll try to go slower next time but I don't have a camera crew, and I'm certainly not handing my Iphone over to strangers.
I was thinking maybe you have a trusted friend or relative who also attends and has more time to film, obviously not a total stranger. Anyway nice score on the Zenith in the box. It would take a lot of willpower to not carefully open it if it were mine!
Sadly the Zenith box was just a box. Free would have been incredible if it was still in there!@@gavinwb1
i like that dark brown little radio on the right in 0:19, it has the speaker grill on the right and two gold colored knows on the bottom left. what brand is that radio ?
that silver colored little mic on the left in 4:32 looks cute, that form, i would like one of those, a Turner Plus Two.

Have enjoyed being a member since about 1992. Always a Great time!! Saw me selling and my blue Toyota SR5 @ 4:20 Fun to see this video. When you're selling you don't get much time to really walk the swap yourself. Thanks for the tour!!

In my city of San Francisco, they have this vintage audio and vintage posters exhibit at the SFMOMA. It’s was great to see all these classic units from the past and most were from the 70s and 80s. The day o went was the free day and it was packed and for the first time had record venders from KUSF college radio. I wasn’t expecting that and spent close to $100. on vintage record albums that I felt were less than buying online and of course saved on the shipping cost, which on its own could be another record.
Someone should make a museum before these vintage audio go up in price and harder to find. Or at least have used vintage audio stores, like they do in Kalamazoo and generally in great condition.
What city is this and are these audio sales starting to be more common?
I’m so glad vintage audio now has more interest and value and not ending up in the dump and garage as before for decades. Imagine all the great audio equipment that got tossed or stored away and neglected? That’s would be like an ocean of vintage audio equipment bc in the early 2000 to about 2010, even the high end stuff was considered junk and no one wanted,
What do you do when you don’t need a stereo or a radio and just love collecting vintage audio equipment?!
This is def not a poor man’s sport of collecting and not bc of the money and more on having a safe space to keep it in.
I remember when I first got into vintage Furniture and other stuff, my apt. was so filled up, I used to buy new vintage stuff weekly from resale shops and bring straight to my storage units. Sadly after paying a year for 4 storage units, all the stuff I bought and never even got to try out was lost bc I got behind my storage rent.
So that’s another reason why collecting vintage audio ia a rich man’s sport. Unless you just have one radio and stereo and can take with you wherever you go.
Oh and I love to get one of those old cell phones (bricks).
