One does wonder. How many millions of people are hoping for this to be the version of dearly beloved that we hear when we start the game up. I also wonder how long we will all sit there, listening to it, before we take that first step of the end of this journey we started on 13 years ago.
Actually 10 years ago, kh2 came out 10 years and you get the hint about kh3 at the end cutscene. Very last cutscene after the credits

I'm not sure why you think this is the end of the journey because it is not. there will be more Kingdom Hearts games and I think the journey, has only just begun. but I will sit there till the end of the song before I take that first step. "there are many worlds, but they all share the same sky. One sky, One destiny.

If the official KH3 Dearly Beloved does not top this beautiful work of art, I will be thoroughly disappointed.
Update: After 5 years, we got it. And while both of the Dearly Beloved’s are beautiful in their own right, I will say that the official KH3 version encompasses what the game is about: having hope, bringing friends old and new together, to fight for what’s right, and that is why I believe that it hits the mark.

jamie dinsdale I just don't quite think the Xbox One is as fit for the game as the PS4. Because of space restrictions, none of the ReMIX games came out for Xbox 360 and KH's debut was at the peak of a Sony-Square Enix partnership. I personally think that many other KH players will choose the PS4 over the Xbox One.
Just so that there's no fanboyism crap, although I have all the PS consoles, I have the Xbox and 360, and plan on getting the One soon.

supermariofan03 cheesy as it sounded, it was a carefully written line, since Roxas literally had no concept of what a friend is. The only thing he knows is having ice cream with her was the only joy he had in his life. It was the equivalent of him saying "You're all I have left." Yes, it sounds cheesy, but how is it even remotely possible for him to word it any other way? He doesn't understand what a friend is. In the Kingdom Hearts canon, asking a Nobody to understand the concept of a friend is like asking for a dog to understand the concept of time. It's not possible, because their mind can't comprehend it, and that's what made it sad.

When I was about 10 or 11 years old I'd find this melody sweet. Looking back, I now feel a nostalgia mixed with sadness, a feeling I should have made the times that passed better and that I am wasting my present, seeing time fly. This melody transports me into a deep conscious, a flashback of my childhood memories, were I couldn't imagine how my adulthood would have been except for turning into a princess or a mermaid, feather dreams. I now dive into this melody again for the presence of painful happiness this shows me in a little but unique way.

how are you not working for square??? this is incredible. there are so many songs from the series mixed into this so perfectly and powerfully that it seems like the ideal, dream ballad for the end of the series. like sincerely, someone call square and get this into the game. this is 'ballad of the goddess' level fan service magic right here.
Though this isn't what we actually got, this is on par with the real one. The real one is very orchestral, while this one is very somber. I very much like it.
