Sweet video! Please get a smaller soldering iron tip, it changes everything. It would be cool to add an encoder and maybe current sensing. Could be a fun rigid flex board with multiple folded layers. I also wonder if you do a flex pcb with a thick metal stiffner to act as a heat sink.
@@eastonlachappelle6402 Thanks! Personally, I find oversized soldering iron tips better for me because they solder stuff quicker so I don’t have to hold it there for a few seconds lol. I was stuck on an SMD sort of tip for a while, which was really annoying, so I pretty much went in the opposite direction. I’ll try doing a smaller tip than this in my future projects and test if it works better though😁 Those are some cool ideas for future iterations if I ever make them (or someone else). Thanks for commenting 😁
Great Project! Very compact design. Thermals are quite impressive maybe some custom CNC'd toroidal heatsink will be better. For the ToF try using micropython for the STM32 Blackpill.
I would be happy to combat test some of these in the very competative Adelaide robot combat environment. I have some spicy carbon brushed N20 gearmotors with a 3A stall current that these would be perfect for. This might be a really nice product for botbitz or llamaforge to stock. Very similar to the BBB red esc but smaller and higher current.
Nice.. keep up the good work
Try somehow to squeeze Quadrature encoders into the boards as well.
Nice project!
Maan this is a such a great idea!
@@butcher thanks lol!
Sparkfun has easy ToF libraries for ESP32 microcontrollers
