As a car enthusiast my whole life and someone that has had more BMW'S than you could count , I did the unthinkable and leased a new 2022 Lexus RX 350. In one of my several careers I worked for BMW for over 13 years and finished working for Lexus my last 3 years. Moving from Socal to Maui which is a Very small market, I found that I couldn't continue my BMW career and switched to Lexus .Once I immersed myself in all things Lexus I found their best selling model the RX to have world class quality and understood why it dominated it's segment ! Each night as I drove my 528i home at end of shift I never thought that I would someday own a Lexus .I decided 2 months ago that I deserved a new luxury car in my retirement years and saw the Lexus dealer that I used to work for advertising a lease deal on a well equipped new RX and having been a BMW finance MGR recognized it was a great value and pulled the trigger. Now after 70 odd days I am thrilled !!!
Bought one in 2017 and it has been the best vehicle ownership experience so far with a bit of maintenance and a lot more money in my wallet compared to the German brands I've owned.
@Marc Menard sorry I'm not sure what Swat means but if you mean blind on coming traffic, not that I've noticed. The headlights auto adjust their angles to illuminate the road and not oncoming vehicles. The LED daytime running lights(here in Canada) are not blinding at all at night. The cornering lights are auto during turns and sharp banking and even the 360° cameras perform well in dark rainy nights. Btw, it uses 87 octane gas(regular), which has been great during the spike in gas prices.

@@davidkirkham6497 i have the Fsport3 trim with the same lights. No ones flashed their lights at me during the winter rain season with road reflection/glare and all.. I guess in our city people are used to these cars and have become more tolerant to the 6000k hue versus the warmer incandescent 4000k hues

I’ve got the last 2022 RX 350 coming to my state. I have no interest in a four-cylinder TwinTurbo set up so I need to get this done before the 2023s are all you can get.

I purchased my first Lexus last week, an RX 350. My regular driver is a Mercedes E-class. I have owned Mercedes, BMW, Infiniti and a number of non-luxury brands. I decided on this vehicle over the BMW X5 for price and forecasted reliability, though I was not totally convinced my decision was right. This RX 350 has exceeded my expectations on fit and finish, driving performance, and satisfaction. It is not on the level of my Mercedes or previous BMW M5 with regard to fit, finish, and driving satisfaction? No. But my expectations have been exceeded and I think this RX will end up in my top vehicles on overall satisfaction.
I traded my 2017 RDX for 2022 RX350. After 2 weeks,I bought back by RDX and sold the RX350. RDX still have a smooth and powerful pickup and does very well at corners compared to RX350.
Never mentioned in these videos comparing Lexus with Mercedes and BMW is the resale value and demand for used Lexus or Toyota vehicles. This is a huge factor that rarely gets mentioned from reviewers.
My sister wanted help on buying a luxury SUV/Crossover the first think I thought of was Lexus. We drove to a Lexus dealer she test drove the RX350 F-Sport she fell in love with it.She only had to wait Three weeks for the vehicle to arrive @ Dealer 06/19/22. My sister also checked out the RX350-L but wasn't to impressed with the extra row of seats which is only OK if you have small kids, not comfortable for teens/adults.
I own a 2021 RX 350 Premium. Traded in my 2016 audi Q5. Much more room and very comfortable then the Audi. Much more technology as standard equipment. My Audi Q5 had a tight interior and very little cargo space. I paid $44K on the road for the Audi in 2016. You needed premium gas in the Audi, but the RX 350 runs on regular unleaded. The Audi was faster standing still for a 4 cyclinder Turbo. The RX 350 has a very luxious ride for the size. I got a great deal. I paid less then $50k on the road! I'm quite happy with the vehicle.

Lexus is King of the luxury cars based on reliability and durability and that just facts. And I love almost all types of vehicles foreign and domestic from economy cars, luxury cars, muscle cars, sport cars, suvs and trucks. Number one manufacturers mechanics recommend Toyota/Lexus.
UX200 serves our needs splendedly at 60% of the RX price.. I also enjoy the UX's lightness and the adroitness of it's steering and braking. Better bang for the buck...IMHO.

You can't go wrong with this car, it's more reliable than any German car or European for that matter and it has one of the best resale value out there. Cheaper insurance. No expansive repairs, and every mechanic is willing to work on them. Unlike BMW, Mercedes Audi, Alfa Romeo, Volkswagen, Fiat. Etc. I used to own bmw x6m, and I had nothing but headache and insurance was through the roof. It's simple if you want money in your pocket buy Japanese, you may not get the German 0 to 60 performance but you will get the reliability. That is my opinion on this. I bought my 2022 Lexus RX350 on August 17, 2022. I had to hurry once I saw the front end look of the 2023 RX350, ugly! Moreover, I wanted the V6 engine, not another turbo 4-cylinder. The car has lived up to its reputation in my short time of ownership!
At the end of the day, a lot of people still buy their cars and not lease them. Those buying are looking to at least over 5 years of ownership, a German vehicle that isn't lease and bought for longterm as a daily driver, is a costly risk. Plus not everyone is concerned about speed or sporty driving dynamics which sometimes lead to a bit less comfort
The RX was the first crossover dating back to 1998. Lexus/Toyota reliability/durability is unchallenged, unmatched. Toyota/Lexus spare parts logistics is unparalleled. Toyota/Lexus dealers network is the best. Toyota/Lexus resale is the highest. More importantly, owners to Toyota/Lexus love grows deeper overtime down the road therefore majority of Toyota and Lexus vehicles are purchased not leased.

I own a 2016 RX450h and I would wait until a new one comes out. I also own a 2010 RX450h and I actually like the older one better. I am going to sell the 2016 RX since used cars are in demand and I can get top dollar. Will save the money until the new version comes out.
The 2022 is probably exactly the same from 2016. You get good mpg from that hybrid? Toyota/Lexus won't mess with perfection! 2023 will have a plug-in hybrid. it's the common choice for big SUVs now

I am a Canadian, so you may say I am biased (LOL), but I own a "made in Ontario, Canada" 2010 RX350, and I didn't have any mechanical problem with my car since I own it. 😀
I have a 2022 RX450h F Sport Takumi. ( Im in the UK) . Here are a few things I have not enjoyed. The infotainment system raises my blood pressure when i try to use it with the voice commands being most frustrating. I am liking the car more since I stopped trying to use voice commands for media playing. It does work ok for phone calls. The cruise control allows overspeeding downhill. This could get you a speeding ticket if you rely on it. This is crazy because if you lower the set speed you can feel the retardation but then it allows overspeeding downhill. I dont find the F Sport seat very comfortable. I am not that big (190 pounds) but i find that my backside feels wedged in. As i said since i have given up focusing on what it wont do i am enjoying the car more. There is no doubt it is lovely to drive but i feel annoyed that Lexus have let these issues go. I expected a faultless car but the niggles subtracted from my initial impressions.
I don’t think this car looks anywhere near as good as a BMW or Audi, with its odd collection of bulges and cut lines, but I’ll be riding on the inside of it not the outside. It’s the car’s reliability that gets my attention. I’m on my second BMW 5 series and it’s now costing a fantastic amount of money to repair as things wear out. For some reason, Lexus seems reluctant to pair six cylinder engines with AWD in its sedans so I started looking at this. The less than trendy infotainment system doesn’t bother me because I prefer buttons to relocating everything to an iPad stuck on top of the dashboard. The interior isn’t fabulous but, at this price, it’s luxurious enough.
Please I need your advice, and I know you are the only one that can give me best advice, Lexus Rx350fsport 2021/2022 (or) Range Rover Velar 2018/2020 which one is the best to buy out of the 2, because I don't know which one to pick, so that is why I need your advice on which one to pick, which one is good and better to buy
Thanks for being honest about the dearth of technology and the horrible touchpad. Lexus is clearly playing on their historical reliability although they aren't willing to back that up with the warranty, which is identical to their German rivals. I wouldn't fault anyone who chose the RX in this segment but my opinion is "you live once" and I'll stick with my Mercedes which is simply a superior vehicle and a joy to drive.
@@davidm4099 Mine is a 2018 S450. It is superior in my opinion in both fit & Finish as well as technology and, of course, fun factor. The new LS500 may be a step towards equilibrium for Lexus but it also carries a price tag north of 100K.
They have a learning transmission which needs to be reset I guess. Not good. I hate how it lags and jerks when given gas. All Toyotas are weak in acceleration.
@@theexpert1825 The hybrid versions (450h and 400h) have great acceleration, despite the added weight of the hybrid battery. Plus we get better mileage than we used to with our old RX300.
Lexus should be a leader in technology....my 2006 IS350 had AC seats and rear cameras but they have been short-sighted recently and let others pass them.
It’s an underpowered beast. The car is programmed to save gas. It’s in eighth gear too quickly. I have learned to compensate. Put engine in sport plus, paddle shift down and floor it.
I have the 2021, very little change for this year's model. But that's good, being the RX is far and away the best lux crossover SUV in the world. And yet even Lexus can screw up a good thing. Apparently this is the final year of the six cylinder RX, as starting in 2023, they are switching to a 2.5 liter turbo. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Unfortunately that's because we are being pushed into less cylinders/emmisions/power and electric and it's not needed. We have plenty of oil in this country. Just need to open the tap. No more V8's V6's are going away and it's all turbo 4's from now on..
It looks great, but after test driving a Lexus for the first time last week, it reminded me of my 2016 Camry so much…at higher speeds, there’s loud wind noise, the car rattles, and it feels shaky….and. CD player in ‘22? A shift stick in ‘22? Really? The displays are also just like my older Camry…lol. Come on now. That interior layout looks so outdated.
I own German and European cars, Volvo and MB respectively, they have some age on them early 2000 models. I have been looking at this vehicle as my next vehicle as while. I like luxury, but would love to keep more of my money in my pocket when it comes to maintenance and the Lexus RX is checking all those boxes. The only other vehicle I am considering is the Acura MDX.
I was told same thing by salesperson, so that’s all I use. Never had a problem with my 2017, maintenance checks everything good. That being said I am so excited to see the new updated RX!! Hopefully close to the LX!! ITS BEAUTIFUL!!
@@Nuriil - EVERY car can perform better to a certain degree by filling the tank with premium. But as long as the engine is tuned for regular, there is no problem whatsoever going with the lesser grade.
Same thing I said to my husband. Needed a car quick and I was stuck between the Hyundai Palisade and the RX 350. Hyundai was charging 3k over MSRP, even tho that’s not as bad as Kia with an almost 10K over msrp, I still refused to pay it! So I went with Lexus and I love it so far.
Lexus design language loses me. With all the hard edges and cheese-grater grill they look like "transformers" designed by a teenager. Toyota reliability is noteworthy, but I can't get past the looks..................
Reliability, low maintenance, comfortable, quiet..... not every buyer is looking for a sporty SUV that is bumpy, loud, etc with horrendous reliability nightmare and high maintenance..... that's why BMW, Mercedes got outsold by Lexus every year

Nothing against the 450h, but since you work for them, maybe you can answer why that model is tuned to run on premium gas, whereas the 350 can run on regular. Even taking into account the higher price tag, I was actually all set to buy the 450h when shopping for a new RX last year, then I learned about it requiring premium gas. Major turnoff. I mean, what good does it do to offer better gas mileage when you end up paying a lot more per tankful. This and the higher price tag pretty much cancels out any advantages the 450h otherwise might have.
@@clubmogambo3214 the price difference is less than $3000 and I tried to ask why the 450h only used premium gas and the only answer I got was it was engineerd that way. I work in the detail department and we are always sold out of the rx 450h it's a few months wait for it. I still think you can save more in the long run and don't forget the brakes get worn out less because of the electrical brakes.

They are redesigning this car for 2023. Do NOT buy one now. The interior is laughably outdated. Look at that absurd clock and it still has the trackpad too. The new NX they redesigned is amazing and I assume the new RX will be too.
For $70,000.00,,, you really need to look into what you get for your money. Forget names or slick body curves. It's all just sheet metal that takes you from point A to Point B. Poor people buy car's they can't afford, wealthy people reliese it's just a car. So a Toyota Corolla would hit all the check boxes and it's a hell of a lot cheaper. Don't forget repair, upkeep and insurance is a big part of what your a car costs you.

it's a glorified Toyota. Just a crappy base model RX 350 in Canada costs $75,500. Might as well get a porsche Macan/Cayenne at that point.

The best in its segment, but at this point I would recommend waiting for the redesigned 2023 RX that will be released 4th quarter of 2022.

I bought my 2022 Lexus RX350 on August 17, 2022. I had to hurry once I saw the front end look of the 2023 RX350, ugly! Moreover, I wanted the V6 engine, not another turbo 4-cylinder. The car has lived up to its reputation in my short time of ownership!

At the end of the day, a lot of people still buy their cars and not lease them. Those buying are looking to at least over 5 years of ownership, a German vehicle that isn't lease and bought for longterm as a daily driver, is a costly risk. Plus not everyone is concerned about speed or sporty driving dynamics which sometimes lead to a bit less comfort
German vehicles after several years between nothing but rolling money pits for me even with strict maintenance.
Just got the RX350 and it’s a nice car except it doesn’t have a digital speedometer.
The auto reviewers are obsessed with sports and performance, I just wanted a long range luxury cruiser.. this is that car… fantastic!
People who don't know will say "Lexus needs 700 HP and V8 in the RX".

My dealer can not find me an rx350L luxury model... even the rx350...said can not find one. So, guess next year or a different brand.

The RX was the first crossover dating back to 1998. Lexus/Toyota reliability/durability is unchallenged, unmatched. Toyota/Lexus spare parts logistics is unparalleled. Toyota/Lexus dealers network is the best. Toyota/Lexus resale is the highest. More importantly, owners to Toyota/Lexus love grows deeper overtime down the road therefore majority of Toyota and Lexus vehicles are purchased not leased.

I own a 2016 RX450h and I would wait until a new one comes out. I also own a 2010 RX450h and I actually like the older one better. I am going to sell the 2016 RX since used cars are in demand and I can get top dollar. Will save the money until the new version comes out.

Love my 2016 RX450h F Sport in black with Red leather. The Sport modes are very good in the hybrid. Will definitely get another one.
The 2022 is probably exactly the same from 2016. You get good mpg from that hybrid? Toyota/Lexus won't mess with perfection!
2023 will have a plug-in hybrid. it's the common choice for big SUVs now

I have a 2010 RX450h, which is made in Japan. I am thinking to get another RX, but now they are all made in Canada. I was told it would be less reliable…😅
The Lexus plant in Canada has won awards for quality, so it'll be fine. Don't buy one made in the U.S.
I am a Canadian, so you may say I am biased (LOL), but I own a "made in Ontario, Canada" 2010 RX350, and I didn't have any mechanical problem with my car since I own it. 😀

You buy an RX because of its even temper. Not to wild, not too demanding, not too expensive, and like wife the RX will always take care of you.

I have a 2022 RX450h F Sport Takumi. ( Im in the UK) . Here are a few things I have not enjoyed.
The infotainment system raises my blood pressure when i try to use it with the voice commands being most frustrating. I am liking the car more since I stopped trying to use voice commands for media playing. It does work ok for phone calls.
The cruise control allows overspeeding downhill. This could get you a speeding ticket if you rely on it. This is crazy because if you lower the set speed you can feel the retardation but then it allows overspeeding downhill.
I dont find the F Sport seat very comfortable. I am not that big (190 pounds) but i find that my backside feels wedged in.
As i said since i have given up focusing on what it wont do i am enjoying the car more. There is no doubt it is lovely to drive but i feel annoyed that Lexus have let these issues go. I expected a faultless car but the niggles subtracted from my initial impressions.
The only complaint of any is the extreme overhang in the front

Top of the list why I bought a 2022 RX 350 is reliability. I’m done with European vehicles. Especially Range Rover. Mercedes and BMW.
I don’t think this car looks anywhere near as good as a BMW or Audi, with its odd collection of bulges and cut lines, but I’ll be riding on the inside of it not the outside. It’s the car’s reliability that gets my attention. I’m on my second BMW 5 series and it’s now costing a fantastic amount of money to repair as things wear out. For some reason, Lexus seems reluctant to pair six cylinder engines with AWD in its sedans so I started looking at this. The less than trendy infotainment system doesn’t bother me because I prefer buttons to relocating everything to an iPad stuck on top of the dashboard. The interior isn’t fabulous but, at this price, it’s luxurious enough.
Love Lexus but the new rx350 looks just like the Nissan Murano. What’s up with that?

Buy the Lexus 2022 f sport the velar though fast and nice is a moneypit to maintain .
Thanks for being honest about the dearth of technology and the horrible touchpad. Lexus is clearly playing on their historical reliability although they aren't willing to back that up with the warranty, which is identical to their German rivals. I wouldn't fault anyone who chose the RX in this segment but my opinion is "you live once" and I'll stick with my Mercedes which is simply a superior vehicle and a joy to drive.

@@davidm4099 Mine is a 2018 S450. It is superior in my opinion in both fit & Finish as well as technology and, of course, fun factor. The new LS500 may be a step towards equilibrium for Lexus but it also carries a price tag north of 100K.

Thinking of trading my Mercedes GLC 300 for the RX 350. Seems like a smoother ride.
We looked at GLC,X5, RDX, RX , Q7 and MDX. I think the Lexus is on an other level over the GLC

Do not like the acceleration when coming out of stop sign/red light. Not happy with it at all. I have a 2021 RX350.
Agreed. I have a 2020 RX F Sport and the fix is to put the car in Sport mode. Normal is like you’re trying accelerate out of a hole.
They have a learning transmission which needs to be reset I guess. Not good. I hate how it lags and jerks when given gas. All Toyotas are weak in acceleration.
@@theexpert1825 The hybrid versions (450h and 400h) have great acceleration, despite the added weight of the hybrid battery. Plus we get better mileage than we used to with our old RX300.
Lexus vehicles are known for comfort but lack the acceleration and sporty handling of the German brands.
Really…who buys a luxury suv for “fast” acceleration. 0 to 60 in 7 seconds not fast enough?
Lexus should be a leader in technology....my 2006 IS350 had AC seats and rear cameras but they have been short-sighted recently and let others pass them.

It’s an underpowered beast. The car is programmed to save gas. It’s in eighth gear too quickly. I have learned to compensate. Put engine in sport plus, paddle shift down and floor it.

I have the 2021, very little change for this year's model. But that's good, being the RX is far and away the best lux crossover SUV in the world. And yet even Lexus can screw up a good thing. Apparently this is the final year of the six cylinder RX, as starting in 2023, they are switching to a 2.5 liter turbo. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Unfortunately that's because we are being pushed into less cylinders/emmisions/power and electric and it's not needed. We have plenty of oil in this country. Just need to open the tap. No more V8's V6's are going away and it's all turbo 4's from now on..
I just took my rx out of 8 inches snow the way it brakes I hate pushing back and pull it fell like what to do wish it was smooth on paddle on snow

It looks great, but after test driving a Lexus for the first time last week, it reminded me of my 2016 Camry so much…at higher speeds, there’s loud wind noise, the car rattles, and it feels shaky….and. CD player in ‘22? A shift stick in ‘22? Really? The displays are also just like my older Camry…lol. Come on now. That interior layout looks so outdated.
I own German and European cars, Volvo and MB respectively, they have some age on them early 2000 models. I have been looking at this vehicle as my next vehicle as while. I like luxury, but would love to keep more of my money in my pocket when it comes to maintenance and the Lexus RX is checking all those boxes. The only other vehicle I am considering is the Acura MDX.

F sport seat, grrrr I hate it. I have 2020 Rx450h F 3, f sport seats front passenger and driver are horribly stiff.
Best feature is the front bumper. In the city with street parking that grill will be tore up in no time with all the SUV’s out there.
I drive a Lexus GS, but I don't like the sharp carved edges in the design of the RX.
Plus you don't need to put Premium Gas in this vehicle, big bonus.

I was told same thing by salesperson, so that’s all I use. Never had a problem with my 2017, maintenance checks everything good. That being said I am so excited to see the new updated RX!! Hopefully close to the LX!! ITS BEAUTIFUL!!
@@Nuriil - EVERY car can perform better to a certain degree by filling the tank with premium. But as long as the engine is tuned for regular, there is no problem whatsoever going with the lesser grade.

DO NOT BY A LEXUS or any vehicle that dealers want to charge above MSRP. They are creating an artificial demand by holding back inventory.
Same thing I said to my husband. Needed a car quick and I was stuck between the Hyundai Palisade and the RX 350. Hyundai was charging 3k over MSRP, even tho that’s not as bad as Kia with an almost 10K over msrp, I still refused to pay it! So I went with Lexus and I love it so far.
I didn’t have to pay above MSRP. Find another dealer.
Lexus design language loses me. With all the hard edges and cheese-grater grill they look like "transformers" designed by a teenager. Toyota reliability is noteworthy, but I can't get past the looks..................
Reliability, low maintenance, comfortable, quiet..... not every buyer is looking for a sporty SUV that is bumpy, loud, etc with horrendous reliability nightmare and high maintenance..... that's why BMW, Mercedes got outsold by Lexus every year

Nothing against the 450h, but since you work for them, maybe you can answer why that model is tuned to run on premium gas, whereas the 350 can run on regular. Even taking into account the higher price tag, I was actually all set to buy the 450h when shopping for a new RX last year, then I learned about it requiring premium gas. Major turnoff. I mean, what good does it do to offer better gas mileage when you end up paying a lot more per tankful. This and the higher price tag pretty much cancels out any advantages the 450h otherwise might have.
@@clubmogambo3214 the price difference is less than $3000 and I tried to ask why the 450h only used premium gas and the only answer I got was it was engineerd that way.
I work in the detail department and we are always sold out of the rx 450h it's a few months wait for it.
I still think you can save more in the long run and don't forget the brakes get worn out less because of the electrical brakes.
@@mikeyounes2756 Thanks for the response. I can't remember the respective price tags any longer, but I seem to recall the 450h being closer to $5k more. But again, my memory is a bit faded on the actual difference, so it's possible your numbers are correct.
F Sport model rides harder then the non Sport model. I don’t understand why anyone would prefer a harder riding Lexus. Just a thought

They are redesigning this car for 2023. Do NOT buy one now. The interior is laughably outdated. Look at that absurd clock and it still has the trackpad too. The new NX they redesigned is amazing and I assume the new RX will be too.

For $70,000.00,,, you really need to look into what you get for your money. Forget names or slick body curves. It's all just sheet metal that takes you from point A to Point B. Poor people buy car's they can't afford, wealthy people reliese it's just a car. So a Toyota Corolla would hit all the check boxes and it's a hell of a lot cheaper. Don't forget repair, upkeep and insurance is a big part of what your a car costs you.
I don't work hard and make what I do to drive a corolla. Sorry.
