- In this week's Wednesday episode, Patrick and Stuart show the full installation of the chateau courtyard fountain along with help from their friend's Tony & Jane, Richard & Eve, and visiting patron Jayson. The beautiful fountain for the cour d'honneur was a generous gift from the Patrons of the Château de Colombe. Patrick and Stuart also have a small gathering of friends to celebrate turning on the fountain for the first time.

How wonderful to have such a friend as Tony, who is always there when you need him. The size and shape of the fountain is just right. SUCH a lovely addition to your chateau. In the hot weather coming you may find the dogs jumping in to cool off! Isn't it satisfying to be at this point where the chateau is ready for guests? It takes the stress off for the next couple of months and gives you both time to breathe. Bravo!

I loved this. The view with the flowering tree in the background was awesome. Such a beautiful fountain. Plus, the pups seem to approve. It is magnificent! I have a very small fountain that was a gift and it goes out every year by the walkway. Nothing like the sound of water. And, Patrick, digress all you want; I do.

The fountain is truly beautiful. It really enhances the property. That was a brilliant purchase. Tony is such an invaluable support.
Just fantastic, guys! And bravo to Tony and everyone that helped you as well. I was thinking of you this weekend, I went to a fantastic plant fair up here in my department, it was at a beautiful chateau in Cherbourg (but no umbrellas! 😉) with an amazing garden. They had plant vendors for all kinds of specialty plants (that I could not resist), but they also had a stand from someone I know but never met, Roses Loubert which has the national collection of roses (I do know the Louberts who started this, and they actually came to my home in California many years ago, and now their nursery is in great hands). And, what did I see, but several plants of Comte de Chambord that were so beautiful I was tempted to get some for you, but I know you weren't ready for any of that! But, they also had a rose that I've sought for over 35 years that was so rare it's only in two public gardens: Mottisfont and Sangerhausen. No one has grown it for decades and no nursery sold it. And then, there it was, two beautiful plants there. So, even though I don't have garden space ready, I had to buy one. It has quite a name as well (Gloire d'un Enfant d'Hiram). Anyway, I digress, 🤣 great video, great fountain, and great work!

@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 If you have any trouble finding either, let me know. Roses Loubert is actually in the Loire valley (Gennes-val-de-Loire). I'd like to visit Mme. Loubert soon so if I do, should I see if I can get some of those roses for you (how can I not want to be a plant fairy)? I have to say, those parterres you marked around the fountain will be wonderful. I did garden design for several years some time ago, and have been a plant nut my entire life (and a tableware nut, and a French antiques nut, and a chandelier nut, and maybe just a nut nut). If you don't already have it sorted, feel free to ask me for plant ideas, etc., it's always fun for me.

I didn't realize you were getting a tiered fountain very pretty it is and never knew what it takes to construct one from scratch either. Well done to all who constructed and helped and funded this fountain what lovely patrons you have :) He's an amazing man is Tony from cutting down a tree at home to installing a fountain ah-mazing. It makes you wonder how on earth they did it back in the 1600's now.

Oh my boys! There are fountains and then there are fountains! You have a honest to goodness big boy fountain. I am so impressed. I thought my 8 foot tall Home Depot fountain was a project. Well not so much. It's a bird bath in comparison. I just love you guys living your best life.

The vases are gorgeous! First thing my eye went too. Love white on white design. You both must be thrilled to see the fountain in. It is spectacular.
