Hey, I just wanna let you know that I am doing well in calculus because and only because of you. You really saved my ass here man. Best videos I've seen, they really make this difficult abstract class of theoretical math tangible and manageable. You deserve a medal of honor because your videos in calculus Orgo and physics have been instrumental to my success as a student. Thank you from the bottom of my heart you truly are a lifesaver. Your clarity in these subjects is unparalleled we need more educators like you in this world.
This channel will be your legacy. Long after you are gone, struggling calculus students will still be watching this video, praising the heavens and giving infinite gratitude that you once walked the same earth. You my good sir, are a man among men.
Man, how slow and methodical your pacing is jives real well with my self-worth based anxiety. When ever I try to concentrate on a lecture on any subject I deem interesting my heart goes wild because I'm not used to indulging myself at any level. Thank God for you man, I really needed this.
Rolles Theorem: - see if f(x) is continuous (no holes, asymptotes..etc [denom can’t be 0]) in the closed interval. - see if f(x) is différentiable. (derivative is continuous) in the open interval. - check that f(a) = f(b) then there is a point where the derivative is 0 (has a horizontal tangent) - take the derivative and write f’(c) solve for c, check if it’s in the interval. Mean value theorem: - must be continuous in [a,b] - must be différentiable at (a,b) - then f’(c) = f(b)-f(a) = b-a (slope of tangent line = slope of secant line)
I may be watching this 7 years later while taking calc 1 for the first time, but you are well appreciated for making these videos. I could not be understanding it this well without your explanations.
I'm writing a test today at 2hours time ,I only had to watch 3 of your videos (which they don't even take more than 30 minutes each) and you covered my whole scope.my friends went to cross night ,they came back at 3am they still have covered everything and they are frustrated, luckily I have you ,I don't get to have headaches when it comes to SMTH and SPHS ,LOVE YOU LOADS.❤️
In turn to your video in Chamistry /biology /math/ biochemistry / and physics. I see many people comments + in your video and other go beyond, for me I just want to say thank you. You such a humble teacher
20:14 thank you very much i needed an edge case like this one, I almost forgot about the open/closed interval thing having never encountered something this
man I wanna cry now. My prof explains them like they r the most complicated thinge evr. I have already did horrible on my 1st two tests. The only hope is I got 1 more test left and then there's a final

There is another way to solve a Mean Value Theorem for Derivatives. You can find what f(b) and f(a) equal by plugging them into f(x) via the x value. As you find f(a) and f(b), you then plug them into the equation f(b)-f(a)/b-a. Make sure that b and a are the intervals while f(b) and f(a) are what you found when you plugged b and a into f(x). As you find the value of f(b)-f(a)/b-a, set that value equal to the derivative of f(x), aka f'(x), then solve. What you should get is a simple value such as x=? which you would rewrite it C=? Note: ? is just a value you would get. However, it can vary in certain cases.

This is the best tutorial on rolle's and mean value theorem i have ever seen...Nice one
Thanks
IKR! My professor has no idea how to explain this stuff. He also didn't show any appropriate example problems...He just throws it on a test.
