Body rolls have been my Achilles heel for the longest time. I've been doing American ballroom competitively for 7 years, so I'm not exactly a newbie to dance any more. But you just don't do a whole lot body rolls there, unless it's choreo for a showdance or something. And even then it tends to be limited. Me and my girlfriend joined a sensual bachata dance team last year, and you tend to do a *lot* of body rolls in sensual bachata. I feel my body rolls still isn't up to par to even the least experienced dancers on my team. I think this video could be my savior!

Last year at my nieces engagement party, all her athletic 20 something girl friend did the Body roll while dancing with me......the Wedding is in May.......I will return the favor at the reception thanks to you. BTW, excellent instruction! No matter how much I practiced thinking "I knew how" to do this. I failed. God as my witness, I had it down with your training like the third time I tried! ....... Now to learn to add a Shuffle Dance to the body roll for the song "Boogie Shoes". Wish me luck!

I was searching for body roll tutorials that also addressed isolations and was sooooo happy to have found your videos. I've just started doing them independent of the wall practice but am not sure of the following: when you release your knees are you simultaneously doing a pelvic tuck? Also, do you have any suggestions for making that particular transition - from that 4th step to the beginning movement with chest forward - more fluid?

yes, exactly, those 2 moves need to happen together so you bend the knees and at the same time tuck the pelvis forward 👌Also keep in mind that very often when you freestyle you will repeat body roll only once and transition to another movement after. If you want to do 2 or more body rolls back to back I'm talking a bit about that transition here: th-cam.com/video/Pnx_RonEabQ/w-d-xo.html 😀

The wall is a very good trick. I love your videos I love the preview of the move at the beginning of the video it encourages us to watch the rest. At the end maybe you could add an example of the move with music, mixed with some medium (or advance) level steps. Not just a basic freestyle but something appealing, just to end the video on "woooaaa I would like to dance like her". It will maybe retain peoples and drive them to explore your channel. It's just an idea maybe I'm wrong I don't know. Great work continue like this.
