WOW! Impressive Sir! I love the fact that you tell us to know everything about our existing wings before even thinking about stepping up! Since I've only got 4 flights... I have many years of learning everything I can about my Mac Para Charger.. Thanks for the video man..!!
I know someone who got caught out on this wing. She broke her back and split her pelvis in two, had to have external scaffolding holding her spine together, one very severe accident and she is a damn good pilot too !. She flew again, I am happy to say, one year to the day after the accident, was good to see ! Anyhow wishing you luck with yours :)
What happened was she had a collapse at 60 feet above the ground coming into land due to a sea breeze cross winding her, she couldn't recover quickly enough, wasn't high enough to throw a reserve and went in really hard. I don't think she had it long and with it being such a twitchy wing it kinda snapped out from under her so to speak, she got caught out in circumstances had she been flying a less high end wing and/or been more familiar with the Zeno she could have saved it. Or at least that's the general consensus of other Zeno pilots who know her, respect her ability, are very familiar with the site and saw it happen. The Zeno has a reputation for excellence but also for being able to bite you badly and quickly, Kyle does right to test fly his in buttery conditions. I'm told that ideally you want at least 500 hours and at least 3 SIV courses under your belt before taking on a Zeno... and I believe them. I know I'm not ready for one that's for sure with only a hundred hours but it is impressive what the local gurus can do with one.
As stated, I've put in the time, thought, and practice. Still have more to do, but I've been well aware of the risk of PG since starting. Accepting those risk is a large part of the sport in general. I'm definitely at that point of 500 ish hours, and several SIV sessions so I'm as excited as anyone to see how this season is going to unfold! Planning on vlogging the season, and I hope you can join me for this adventure!
Well, we've followed you this far aint we :) You definitely sound ready and mentally prepared for it, Yeah I don't blame you for being all revved up like a kid on christmas morning, I know would be :D .. wishing you luck dude !! :)
I know you did your homework and then some. Its all about calculated risks and I respect the/your process. Good stuff Kyle. Side note - This past summer I was watching a euro vid and a couple of the siv instructors were talking about risk, and something that struck me was one of them said nobody should fly anything over an AN-C wing and he’s never thrown a reserve in his life. I was surprised by both take aways. This guy is also a test pilot for a big wing manufacturer. It just stayed with me. Rock on though - I’ve never flown a paraglider yet but do enjoy the adrenaline. Your videos are much loved! :)
This year is game changer also for me as I'm stepping up into 6.3 Aspect Ratio. I have pretty same feeling about C as yours about D. Can't wait for sunny days and cloud streets to check it out.
THANKS for the video, very informative. Im 15 years old and right now im flying the Artik Plume EN C and wanting to step up to get more performance in comp. I think we are in a similar situation. Very good video:)
Sweet wing. Be very interesting to see your first landing with free flight. Watching pilots in comps landing they just skim the ground with long distances before landing. Landing with a paramotor would be even more interesting! Extra weight on a already fast glider equals trouble I would think, might want to pick a good windy day. Love the videos looking forward to your new wing adventures.
Damn it Kyle! You're being such a tease! Just show it! You know we have a thing for new wings 😍 I wanna see if you can manage to fly that thing on a motor. I'm always amazed two liners fly and if it flys on a motor... I mean.. I'm not even sure what to think anymore.
Is Hurley sending you those Indigo mirror sunglasses? 😎 Curious about Zeno style paraglider wings verses (Hadron) reflex wings for soaring in light thermals both with and without a paramotor. Seems like a wing designed for both uses would be popular. Currently I'm flying the Velocity Nitro 22M (intermediate/advanced) reflex wing which seems ok for soaring light thermals with ballast and no motor though the manufacturer doesn't recommend. Thanks Kyle O - Smooth skies and then we fly!
Im watching this a year later! I do believe he said "It wasn't a wing that he was going to toss up in to the air any old time!" Spoiler alert! There are lots of videos of him on this very wing!!!! =D
Be careful bud, that ship is the real deal, you need your A game in anything but butter air. You know what they say, it will fly great until it stops flying.
Speaking of sponsors. Do you know anyone that wants some free advertising? Wings can be printed now and that makes for a huge banner. I have nothing but time so why not test wings as I'm learning.
Awesome, can't wait to see some vids with it! A friend of mine flies a Zeno and likes it quite a bit. Have you considered taking your new harness (which you will LOVE I'm willing to bet), but a wing you think you are tuned into, and going to a competition? Almost everyone will agree that competition will progress your results far more than any increase in performance. wingsoverapplegate.org/ for example, it looks like they have a "sprint race" that has shorter tasks than the open, and a mentored class as well. Tons of fun, and very good experience.

Yeah that charger will do alot more than you can handle in 4 flights lol

"got caught out on" - what does this mean? Does that mean the weather turned bad or something else?

So you think if she would have caught it sooner and banged the brakes it would have helped any, probably not being that low?@@freezatron
That was fascinating. Many great points and insights. I'm looking forward to the follow on video - her maiden flight!

Very good video:)
Kyle, I'm sure you will fly the heck out of that wing. Can't wait for the flight video.

When are you heading out to SD? I would love to come out and watch ya fly!
Quality video as usual Kyle, thanks.

Nice Zeno Kyle, you definitely choose the best colour scheme 😍
Goodluck! brother- that wing is no joke.
Thanks for another great video Kyle! I really appreciate that you are free-flying and also talking about PPG in bigger air.
Is Hurley sending you those Indigo mirror sunglasses? 😎

Zeno tops all other gliders on the market for soaring efficiency.
Man, I was hoping this would be a special unboxing of some other cool stuff you got in the mail. ;)
This was filmed before I got that package! I'm living in the past on this channel, ha!
@@kyleoglee Does that mean my life style of living vicariously through you has already happened, I just don't know it?
"This wing was not sponsored. No one bought this wing for me". Well what the hell are they waiting for?
For real though! 😉
I know Im kind of off topic but does anyone know a good place to watch new series online ?
@Axton Michael i use flixzone. Just google for it :)
@Camilo Ramon yea, have been using FlixZone for since march myself =)
Be careful my friend,it`s a hotty. And want to see more vids from you. 😱 💪
very good video :)
Wow, Seriousiy High Aspect Ratio! That thing looks like a samauri sword, badass.
Freeking great info bro
Nice wing! Should be spicy! By the way the bag is Saucisse pronounced “saw cease” means sausage in French!
Jack...you beat me to it!! 😂 so-seeesss 🤣🤣 have fun with that wing Kyle!! 👍🏼
Imma just call it my "saaasage bag" from now on, 🤣
Be careful bro! Looks awesome
I would love those ape hanger handles! Especially for my right shoulder. Will you be carrying a drogue or drag chute?
Already got one. Next video will be about the harness.
Just a heads up the pillow is to stop you kinking the ribs when you packet it have fun fly safe
Yes, but as mentioned, using the harness for that function saves bulk and serves the same purpose.
nice ;-)
Do you have any desire to dip your toes into speed flying? Rad content Kyle, keep it up!
I live in Louisiana, so speedflight would just be a pipe dream. No real options here, or close enough to think about it.
@@kyleoglee Hit up Soboba while you are in California getting to know the Zeno!
Go Zeno!!!
Im watching this a year later!

I wonder how this compares to the Viper 4?
you're joking right?
So this shit weather is YOUR fault. Gee, thanks, Kyle.

I got 2nd in the Lonestar comp in August. I'm attempting to make it to Applegate, but work will likely interfere with my travel schedule.
@@kyleoglee Oh sweet!
