    What’s your favorite Albert Belle moment? Was there anyone scarier than he was?

    • @kramer2312
      @kramer2312 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I like the teammates stealing his corked bat from the MLB. They shouldn't have fessed up to it. Certainly much worse ppl, like murderers and rapists that have played in major sports leagues and their are plenty of them. Belle was scary, but not life threatening. Rae Carruth, Darren Sharper and Aaron Hernandez to name a few.

    I met Albert Bell /Joey Bell both version several times when he played in Cleveland and he was a chill guy until people started running the yappers. Ppl would heckle him while he was trying to eat at a steakhouse trying to get a response. I'm not defending his actions but he was chill until provoked.

    If he could have just settled down 50% of the time, he'd have won at least an MVP if not more than 1. I can't say that some of his victims didn't deserve it though. I certainly can't disagree with a college kid beating down a racist fan that wouldn't leave him alone or chasing down some ignorant trick or treat bastards that egged his house. They deserved what they got if they really did what Albert accused them of doing. On the other hand, why you goin nuts on a thermostat or yelling at reporters? I extremely disagree with what the reporter said about the year Mo Vaughn won MVP. He didn't vote for Belle cuz he didn't like him. What?! It's Most Valuable Player, not Most Valuable and Likeable Player so it's completely ridiculous he was screwed out of that MVP, just like they did to Bonds in '91, I believe. Terry Pendleton my ass.

If it were the case there would have been stands full of people to corroborate Alberts story, which wasn't the case. Albert already had a reputation and it wasn't hard to get him to blow up so there would be no need to go that far. People have a way of making up excuses for their bad behavior and Belle had a ton of bad behavior and always had an excuse.

      @WalkoffGrandslam I didn't say that its almost never true, I said I'm sure it happens, sometimes. People do use that as an excuse to validate their own bad decisions and bad behavior. Not a bad theory but MLB didn’t start their official PED testing policies until 2002. Belle was out of the league by then so we’ll never actually know. But he had outbursts like this as far back as early college and possibly some high school. So unlikely PEDs were the cause.
