My first real job was a typesetter for a Rubber stamp company. We used the Ludlow and every now and then something would go wrong and the molten hot lead would splash, I still have scars today. Nice video, even though it was 30 plus years ago I still dream about it. Thank you so much.
Ludlows are great machines. Always liked using them, although the very small type sizes were a pain, particularly if you got a wrong font or were not careful with dissing the mats after use. It is 40 years since I last worked one but could use one today with ease.
Loved to use the Ludlow when there was balance of payments crisis in the early 70s and imports were banned another machine was used but I cannot remember what it was called _ but it was no match for the Ludlow.
I worked for five or six years on these machines... it was between 1977 and 1983.

Whoever disliked this video must have been forced to use a Ludlow at some point.
My Dad worked at Ludlow Typograph in Chicago and designed those letters.

Repost without the stupid music and I’ll watch more than the first minute.
