You have such beautiful surroundings to inspire you. I live in the city, nothing so inspiring to paint here so I will have to just find inspiring photos instead. Loved the video.
Love this Emily. I was looking at the easels and wondering how I could use them with water colours and you showed this clearly so thank you for that. I love the way you build up the values and details. I’m new to all this so thanks for all you are sharing.👍😎🇦🇺🇬🇧
Hii Emily! I really enjoyed the video and you represented these rocks so beautifully with watercolor!! Painting outdoors looks really exciting to try! Have a great day!!!
so beautiful Emily! you are brave ( and strong)! climbing up into the rocks with all your gear! much appreciated for sharing your gorgeous scenery too..ps..I recall u saying some of this was wet on wet but how did it not drip given the angle? also, do u have a video on your new Plein air set up? thanks again...stay cool!
Yes, lots of wet in wet! I think of it as more of a controlled wet-so the water is soaking into the paper, and you use your brush to control the drip. Brush isn’t sopping-it’s all just water control, same as when you’re painting flat.
Great video! I''m working on my plein air setup. What did you use for your water cup here? I need something metal that will secure via magnets. Thanks so much!!!
Do you ever have any layering issues with sennelier? I have the student grade paints and I bought them because some people said there’s no difference except professional is more pigmented. My student grade sennelier paints don’t take layering very well, the first wash reactivates with the second wash and gets messy. I’m just wondering because I’m interested in buying the professional brand
Hi. I have been watching a lot of your plain air videos. They are amazing, keep the good work. I do have a question, does your Senelier paints leak all over the place after your plain air session? I noticed that you are using the pan version. I am trying to put a plain air kit together and I love Senelier but seems that there is a lot of risk of leaking if I want to use them outside.
The Sennelier pan set does not leak at all-I think they are poured and compressed in such a way to prevent leaking. I have noticed leaking when I fill pans with tube paint.
@@EmilyOlsonArt thanks for addressing my question. Very kind of you :) your plain air set up seems very convenience and light weigh. I may give it a try. I love sennelier. Thanks for the inspiration and information 😁👍
Two pleasures in one. Like ice cream with a cherry on top. You must live in beautiful area. Beautiful painting & scenery.
Yes, so grateful to live in a beautiful place!

Interesting! I haven’t tried the student grade paints, but my professional set is wonderful! No layering issues.
