  • Interview with Mark Chalmers, President & CEO of Energy Fuels Inc.
    Our previous interview: www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/en...
    Recording date: 2nd March 2024
Energy Fuels (AMEX:UUUU) is an integrated uranium and rare earths producer uniquely positioned to capitalize on opportunities in both critical mineral sectors.
The company had a breakout year with its uranium business in 2023, generating $100 million in net income after producing over 560,000 pounds of uranium. Energy Fuels is now focused on ramping up output to 1.5-2 million pounds annually at its licensed mines in the U.S. This profitable uranium production provides cash flows to support Energy Fuels’ growth.
The White Mesa Mill in Utah gives Energy Fuels flexibility to process uranium from its own operations and third-party producers. Buying agreements and toll milling contracts allow the company to optimize feed for the mill and lower costs. As uranium prices rise amid growing nuclear power demand, this operating leverage offers profits.
Energy Fuels also has substantial rare earths upside. While uranium prices are high, rare earths prices have fallen dramatically. This creates an opportunity for Energy Fuels to acquire undervalued rare earths projects and assets. The company’s strong balance sheet, with over $250 million in cash, gives it firepower for acquisitions.
Energy Fuels is on track to complete its rare earth separation facility at White Mesa Mill. This will further boost its integrated rare earths capabilities, helping offset pricing risks. When rare earth prices eventually rebound, Energy Fuels will be primed to benefit.
With diversified critical mineral production and assets, technical expertise, and financial strength, Energy Fuels is in an enviable position relative to mining peers. As decarbonization accelerates demand for uranium and rare earths, Energy Fuels offers unique exposure supported by real assets and cash flows.

    Thanks for the update.
Producing uranium, having the only licensed operating mill in the US, and a very experienced management team, makes investing in EnergyFuels a no-brainer.
Bonuses: NO DEBT - rare earth - vanadium - isotopes - recycling

Bought UUUU at $1.29 avg. Now around $6.10. Entry point always very important.
I see Energy Fuels $10-$15 in a couple years. Especially if we don’t get any blk swan events. Thx for the talk Matt.

Bought at the same time as other miners. The latter coys are up hugely; this has barely moved. Is there an explanation by management as to why the market does not like Energy Fuels relative to its peers? All down to a huge dislike of rare earths?

Having being heavily invested in Uranium miners for 8 years and doing extremely well , I have wanted to buy this company for a long time, but something stops me. I can’t explain it, but something is wrong here. When others have 4 and 10 bagged, but this one and half the others sit stagnant I guess you need to be cautious

Many prefer it simple like 'uranium only'. However, this company is diversified, has multiple income streams and is setting-up big-time for the future. And remember: No debt!

You have been sensible and created a portfolio of investments, which has diversified your risk profile. However, when you make your investments, you don't know which ones will work out and which ones won't. You hope that all your portfolio will, but even in that unlikely scenario, it's important to accept that they will do so at different timeframes. Energy Fuels is essentially a giant processing plant that needs feeding (uranium, vanadium, rare earths...etc). They must show the market they can feed it. Which, in turn, diversifies their risk profile. We think they will.

Mark has not lost his focus on uranium and he will deliver on revenue and cash flow growth over the long term. Just watch.

I like most of what I see here, however the relatively high management & board compensation, coupled with not very great insider ownership makes me a bit cautious.

I just want him to focus on processing as much uranium as possible.

Everything is great except shareholder value. Chalmers doesn't seem to care much about his investors. Same story.... "we're great".... but market believes you suck.

Market can be dead wrong. Paladin already traded at 0,01$, market used to think it was deprived of any value.

Energy fuels has barely moved with the sector because Mark has lost his uranium focus. Rare earths are great, but the uranium fundamentals are magnitudes stronger.

Patience young man. You need a real company with strong balance sheet and actually producing Uranium. There is still multi bagger potential here too which is great for a safe bet.

The sector has been down because the spot price of uranium has been consolidating. In reference to the REs, refer to the 2020 price action of MP Materials. That's where UUUU is headed, in tandem with their uranium sales.

I'd rather own EFR with a team focused on building a profitable company in the U space than buy some U sh*tco with no assets and no profits.
