    I'm going to Edinburgh next week on a solo trip so I've been watching all your videos. Your guides are informative and fun to watch. Thank you so much!

    Papii on Hanover Street my favourite place to get breakfast. I even dragged the family up for the day to experience this hidden gem. Thumbs up all around, may be hard to get a table as it is tiny, but it's worth the wait with friendly staff and homely feel!

    I've just commented on your video about public transport, saying how the production value of these videos continues to get better and better. But seeing this, which is from a few years back, highlights the reality that those production values have always been tremendous - really well done. And your delivery is always intelligent yet fun.
    Three fave eats places for me are Victor Hugo on the Meadows, Seven in Tollcross and Honey & Co. in Bruntsfield. Savour!

    I've always envied Europeans for their ability to use two eating utensils at once, the fork and the knife! It looks so sophisticated! We stumbling Americans can only handle one or the other at a time. We use the fork to hold the food on the plate while we use the knife to cut up what we are about to eat, then we lay the knife down and switch hands to spear the item and put it in our equally clumsy mouths!
    One question to prove my total lack of sophistication, what is "Black Pudding?!

    • @stewarthill3891
      @stewarthill3891 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's an insightful observation on the difference in cutlery etiquette. To me, American's cutting their food into bite sized chunks looks childlike. Oh, and black pudding is delicious.

    HULA Juice Bar! My travel buddy and I ate there every day we were in Edinburgh! They have a ton of vegan/veg options, they have some of the BEST pastries I have ever eaten in my life, and I'm including the non-vegan ones, they were that good. Also, they have simple filling breakfasts (I favored the THICK sprouted toast with PB and jam) and complex stuff like fancy "Instagram-able" Acai berry bowls and snazzy avocado toast, all super affordable. It gets busy so getting there when they open (around 8 I think) is a good idea because they won't be out of anything delicious and you can grab a table to eat in the adorable tropic-themed cafe. We always left with pastries for later. HIGHLY recommend!! Located in the popular grass market area. Miss it terribly.

    I usually visit Edinburgh, once or twice a year, (obviously this year was cancelled). Whenever I visit I have at least one breakfast in Scott’s, Victoria Terrace. Good food and considering it’s location, reasonably priced I think.

    Great picks! Nicely done video. Something gooey-great for everyone. I’m traveling to Edinburgh as soon as the travel ban lifts. I’m allergic to gluten. So no flour, which means no bread, batter or grains, etc. Are there gluten free options on menus, such as in the US? Usually it’s not a problem traveling as I eat eggs, sausage, potatoes, meats, salads, etc. And I love porridge. Just thought I would see if anyone can guide me for my visit to Scotland.

    • @Kakibot
      @Kakibot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Constance! I've been really wanting to make a gluten-free guide to Edinburgh, but over the past year or so we've actually lost two of the places that have inspired me to do this in the first place T__T BUT - I think gluten free eating is definitely not a niche need in Edinburgh and from what I've seen there are GF options in most restaurants + cool little places like the Tupiniquim brazilian crepe stand (so tasty) which are fully GF! Loudons and Union of Genius soup cafe are other two I've visited and loved and seem to be GF friendly (and aware of cross contamination too)

      That is wonderful. Thanks so much for your quick reply and your videos. They are really great. Loads of info and so upbeat.
      Gluten free crepes. I’m there! I can’t wait for my visit. I’ve been thinking about going in Sept after the summer crowds and less midgets, but with still enough sunlight. But your video on Christmas makes it look so beautiful. Maybe I will travel then. I must go to handle something for my mother’s estate. COVID just delayed my plans.
