Had to respond immediately in defence of long videos, they are excellent. Too many quick fixes in the world and anyone who really wants to understand how to get the best out of their horse will totally appreciate the thorough, honest, nothing hidden teaching given to us by Steve. For me they could go on for another few hours! 😃 Thank you Steve and family x

I love the long videos! I don't have horses anymore but I watch them while doing my sewing. I love that they are real-time, slow-paced, and full of funny conversations.

Your videos are fascinating! Honestly, I wish they could be longer! Your understanding of their thought process is amazing. Your patience should be a lesson for us all. Thank you and don’t give one thought for the length of the videos. I love to watch the horses progress. Anyone wanting a shorter video can fast forward. Thank you.

I have begun this program with my mini and the difference in her is remarkable. They are so smart and she knows exactly what I’m trying to get across to her. It’s disrespectful to a horse to not treat them properly and with quality like you adroitly say time and time again. She appreciates my efforts and tests me now and again. What a great time we have together. Thanks Steve and Tanya.

I had the most beautiful Shetland, so quiet, I loaded to a friend for a 3 y o rider....
After 2 months, they returned her.
My daughter noticed first, that upon her return, she learned a new trick - she would TROT BACKWOODS to KICK ANYONE who dared entered her paddock!!
I didn't believe the reports, so I went to see it for myself....
Sure enough, she saw me, ducked her head down, and REVERSED towards me, with teeth barred, ears back, whites of eyes showing = she meant business!!
I fell to my knees and said "OK, come at me"!!
She checked her rear view mirrors, she turned her head in disbelief, she doubled down on her reverse revolve, she checked her reverse mirrors again, she reinforced her intentions with vocal annoyance, she saw I was still on bended knees, she squealed in defiance, reversed up to me, I extended a calm gentle hand, I stroked, scrubbed, and massaged her hind quarters.
She spun around, dropped her head into my chest, and told me all her sorrows.
We hugged for at least 10 minutes.
    She sighed a lot.
Eventually she groomed my back gently.
    She knew she was home.
WTF did those people DO to such a gentle mare, to make her think she needed to FIGHT FOR HER LIFE!?
I hope you realize Steve, it's not ALL about DISOBEDIENCE??

    • @Goldenhawk583
      @Goldenhawk583 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It was not about disobedience with this pony. It was loss of trust.. Not as severe as with your pony, but loss of trust still. She was not "punished in any way.. just goven a chance to see it could be safe to make the choice to trust again. At least that is what he said, and what I saw.

Can’t lie. I used to work at a stable with thoroughbred race horses. We had two Shetland ponies Mike and Ike. They were assholes, not because they were assholes but because they were trained to be such. They never behaved because they were tiny and they “don’t hurt anyone”. But they were dangerous.

Its like the little dogs like chihuahias...they are small enough that ppl laugh or just let them get away with anything and you have an angry, BITING, little alpha dog who has no manners and knows no rules. The dog doesn't want to be alpha but is forced to step in if noone else does.
Logical to need the leadership but hard to implement especially once u have the unwanted behavior. Glad we have Steve the seed planter!
Also love that whenever he says crop he also says not to hurt them with. Each and every time! It is just an extention of your arm, telling the horse even a two legged human with t-rex arms has control of the full length of a horse. Go-go-gadget arms.

To get the most value, I end up watching first 30in 2 or 3 times so I can see exactly when I need to release. Then move on to the next part

It is not (normally) about actual eyeproblems.. it is that they have the eyes on the sides, and if they get used to seeing everything in one eye, they do not transfer that learning to the other eye ( if that makes sense), each side has to learn it separately.
