Hey Baalorlord, I have been watching for a few months now, and today I got my first infinite (madness hologram all for one), and I never would have picked up the game again to continue the ascension grind (on A6 / 7 on the characters) without your content! Onwards to A20! Or in your case many a streak on A20H.
@@NixViche and even if it's like an early shop and buying membership card takes up 90% of your gold, it's a great pick if there's nothing else in the shop that helps the deck well.
Funny how the defect found one statue with gold and destroyed it, and then moments later found another statue with gold, and prayed for forgiveness for destroying the first statue they found.
The choice of 30:17 really surprised me. But this is why I watch Baalor: he's a pro and his understanding of the game and therefore card pick decisions are much better than mine :)
@34:10 You should be able to sell potions at shops. 50% sale value base, affected positively by Store discount relics (so member card would give a +50%, bringing sale value to 75% of store base sell price)
The last part is unnecessary. With a shop relic, money is already more valuable. You don't need to make more money with those relics. Otherwise, it's an interesting idea. 😊
@@brayanmiranda9158yeah like that more, but still much prefer the current system above all else. Potions are simultaneously the biggest power boost and biggest opportunity cost in the entire game, and that's what makes them great. Hold on to it for too long and you get punished, glug too readily and you also get punished if you're not lucky. You have to evaluate their worth correctly, and walking into a shop with a full potion belt and no other outlet for your gold is part of that.
I think the amount of status icons we had got obstructed by the heart's status icons during the last few turns, this was the first time I saw that many icons on the main character.
That's because it is very very good, yes. Discard fetching is a stupidly good draw type. Play X, play Holo, play X again is almost a "we have Echo Form at home" if you think about it, and helping with playing your good cards consistently almost makes me think "we have Pyramid at home" too. The extra Block on top makes it just great, and the Upgrade removing Exhaust is downright crazy. And then there's the card art, he's just a silly little robot fellow giving you a cavalier shrug, as if all the heavy lifting it does is just a normal Wednesday.
Ah yes the way of the gambler. 10 bucks or a mystery box. 10 bucks is 10 bucks but a mystery box could be literally anything, it could even be 10 bucks
Timestamps for when Baalor picks up the cards and relic in the thumbnail (Heatsinks x2, Creative AI x3, and Mummified Hand): [Updated for the new thumbnail. Original thumbnail was The Bomb x2.] Heatsinks #1: (22:24) (Floor 20 Combat) Heatsinks #2 & Mummified Hand: (24:52) (Floor 24 Shop) Creative AI: (58:39) (Floor 47 Combat) (The other two copies of Creative AI are not added to the base deck.) Original timestamps and comment: The Bomb #1: (11:18) (Floor 10 Shop) The Bomb #2: (1:10:11) (Act 4 Shop) Big badda boom!
😂 even when knowing the bombs are lined up like that I'd feel iffy letting them roll the heart like that! great run, defect potency /w that hand of the mummy
As far as selling cards, what if the merchant is interested in *one* of the non-starter cards in your deck? Might lead to some interesting decisions when they want a useful card and you're just short of a purchase.
You pay for removals. Even having 0 cost removals is game breaking (think about it, an entire relic is dedicated towards flooring removals at 50), nevermind actually *gaining* money for removals. It's utterly broken and means you're not punished as hard for adding early game junk to your deck because you can gain the power from the early game boost and then sell it later to redistribute the power.
Genuine question: why would you take a Snecko Eye from Act 2 boss when all of your cards were 0 or 1 Energy except for The Bomb? I get it's extra draw, but that seems really risky. I don't think I'm a good enough pilot to get the win after doing that. Edit: or was it a choice that you later regretted? I'm asking not to get any kind of one-up or look smart, I'm just trying to learn to be good at the game. 🙂
The extra card draw is huge, as you said. But he also already had a very powerful combination that helps to mitigate bad energy draws: Mummified Hand, Heatsinks, and lots of powers. So even if there’s a really bad hand, he was very likely to be able to play a power, have that make something free, and draw more cards that could be randomized to low enough cost to play them. Yes, it weakens the 0 cost cards, but the overall effect has so much potential strength that it outweighs that.
Also, this is a bit more of a long-range strategy thing, but taking Snecko Eye allows you to disregard energy cost in your future card rewards. For example, in this run, Baalorlord was able to take Meteor Strike and Creative AI without worrying about how much they cost, whereas in a non-Snecko run he might have to pass them up because of their energy cost.
@@ZakEdwards Thank you, those were all good points. I had a bit of trauma from taking Snecko Eye a couple of times when I first started playing (probably only a couple of months ago!) and lost badly both times, so it left a bad taste in my mouth. Of course, now I know I was probably just taking it at the wrong time and/or not thinking enough about how my card rewards would work with it. This game has quite a learning curve, but it's addictive like nobody's business!
@@knivesoutcatchdamouse2137 welcome to the obsession! Snecko Eye is notorious for people hating it at first and then loving it once they realize how powerful it can be in the right contexts. And yes, the learning curve on StS is INTENSE. But also so, so rewarding. Even years into playing, I still learn new things and enjoy trying to manipulate everything into a winning run. Just a truly brilliant game.
Most enemies (especially in the later game) scale fast and require you to do things NOW and QUICKLY. Using most of your energy for an effect that doesn’t happen for two turns leaves you open to get absolutely destroyed before it even goes off. Not to mention, 40/50 damage doesn’t even kill most things in the later game.
It makes me feel good about my understanding of the game when I see a whole bunch of little mistakes Baalor makes :) But his overall weighting of events is still crazy good
Did I hear Baalor right, that someone paid for 24 years worth of subscription on Twitch?! That's insane!
24 years!?!?!?
I’m Ron Burgundy?!
@@MannFace51 Ok, and i'am Emil and now 😂
It was 24 months
he mistakenly said years and double downed on it as a joke

Even though it doesn't directly "do" anything, membership card is one of fave relics to see
Well depending on how much money you have at that moment it can give you more spending power immediately
@@NixViche and even if it's like an early shop and buying membership card takes up 90% of your gold, it's a great pick if there's nothing else in the shop that helps the deck well.
since you get it at the shop, it often does do something since you can buy other things for a discount immediately.
Funny how the defect found one statue with gold and destroyed it, and then moments later found another statue with gold, and prayed for forgiveness for destroying the first statue they found.

I agree, Baalorlord. I agree.

You should post the run that you lost the streak on
The losses are available on the unedited channel. Which one are you looking for?
the bomb is a card that does upwards of 150 damage in one card play. Why is it not better?
