@Anton Moquin it's real good, for some time. If you've ever heard anything about it you might've heard that when you've done everything on your starting planet, you've done everything in the game basically. When i had all the vehicles, all materials and nice ways to farm for the more common material, my next step was to go to the other planets and set up big bases too, which is kinda tedious. If you have the Xbox Game Pass i highly recommend you to try the game out, it's great fun, its just very shallow.

I would rather see them skip the manual-powering-of-everything mechanic they added, and instead spend that time & effort on something else- like more character/ship/multi-tool/etc customization options, or some new, different biomes, or something else. I don’t hate the power mechanic or anything, but that effort would’ve been better off being used elsewhere imo.
I won’t criticize too much though, because they’ve done an amazing job with this game over the past few years. It has transformed into something that’s light years ahead of where it was when it released- and they’ve done it all for free, which is mind blowing. I understand they didn’t release the same game they hyped up, leading up to the release, but to have spent the past- what- 3 years(?) improving it from top to bottom, without charging anything additional, is something that I’m pretty confident that approximately ZERO other dev studios would do at this point in time.

If you attach electricity to the cuboid room or circle room, the door functions normally.
No wires to the door are necessary. If you can't find a place on the outer walls of a cuboid room to power (which are indicated by the red/copper looking bars around the outside of circle rooms/square rooms and cuboid rooms and only disappear if you place something like a whole wall covering window), you can power something inside the cuboid room like a light you have placed on a wall inside, and it will give power to the whole building and everything inside/attached to it, barring a few objects which require their own power.
edit: it did do this at one point, but then it hasn't since, so probably just ignore this, I might've experienced an unintentional bug? I dunno, door complications are stupid

Anyway I figured it out and made myself a cave but for a couple seconds I thought I was going to die bbecause I can't open a door. At least this is easier to understand than redstone.

Any Prox Sensor that is placed in it would activate if any player gets near (doors to open from outside the room) or in the room activating all lights or other things linked to the proxy. When a Prox Senor is in the room the whole room would be pretty much a senor but only when near the doors or inside the room

Great video! Just got a decent gaming pc (ryzen 3600 with a GTX 1660ti) - was playing on the xbox but base building got tough with the frame rates dropping on larger bases, made the game almost unplayable. Now that I am on a PC I plan to make some very nice bases (need to get through some main quests first) Going to save this video to reference back to. Thanks!

I am having a lot of trouble trying to build a base up in the air. I am following the steps you describe, but when I try and put down a second base computer up on a platform at the edge of my build limit, the base computer ALWAYS gives me the previous base registration error and won’t let me place the second base computer. I have tried this on numerous planets and numerous positions and I can never get that second base computer to allow me to continue. Any tips you might have would be greatly appreciated!

The power isn’t what makes it fun. It’s the network of machines that you can now make that require power to run.
This adds a whole new element to the game. It lets you passively farm money so it becomes less of a grind.
Less grind = more time for exploration.

Ok ya got me, only planets with good atmosphere to carry the current should have wireless capabilities lol I'm also poking fun at the things we can do but the game decides not to be a game when it come to base power. I would settle for invisible wires but having to plot a cohesive course for wiring to avoid eye sore seems like an ancillary part of the expansion of building. We need wireless capability, mission refreshs for corrupted story lines, and a robot companion that follows you.

I gota add another comment. This is my source of inquiry so I feel the need to tell u guys if you guys have same issues. The 2.09 patch helped me big time. I had 30hr save and the Artemis quest never showed up for me or it disappeared a while back. I had already been running missions for nada and polo and got the vpass1. The beyond update came out and I didn't have the new option to summon anomaly. Tried to trigger communications saving frieghtors and short warps. Long warps too. Nothing. Then as soon as the 2.09 patch I immediately had ' alone a midst the stars ' go to the strangers coordinates. I followed the quest, got in contact with nada and boom now I can play with people.
Also doing your own quests in other people's worlds/groups is still problematic so avoid that. My science side quest messed up just after this while scanning animals per scientists request and the icon to return to scientists was in my friends system floating in space. I fixed it in my world by deleting my science terminal and building a base in their system and setting it down there. The icon moved. Then I deleted him again and that base. The icon stayed on that plot of land but I took it back to my base and the icon moved again. Then I talked to science man there.

Your house electricity is not wireless. You cannot send high voltage electricity wirelessly on a commercial scale. Wires are hidden inside of your walls with metal pipes.
The problem with building wires in walls in video games is that you can’t see the to edit them.
Wireless power would make it very much effortless to make and connect complex machines and would ruin the immersion of the game. “Hooking things up” is strangely satisfying to most people. I was excited when I completed my first electro magnetic generator system which powered my mineral extractor and storage base. It was very fulfilling.
Wire running is an art: You can make it look cluttered or you can make it beautiful.

The power system is not well thought of at all. Plugging an item in to the door frame should just give you the option to manually open or close the door. And if an item is connected to a part of the base power should be connected to anything else the base is connected to.... Having 1000 cables criss crossing the inside of your base is well dumb.
