As a few have mentioned, a wider “spoon” would be a good idea. Just something 3” wide or so with a slight curve to match the rim would be ideal. I accidentally punched a hole through an old dry rotted 2 ply ATV tire when I wasn’t paying enough attention. Oops!
This is the simplest and best design and adjustable for different tyres too. I think with a solid long base, something like this wouldn't even need to be fixed to the ground. Say a long bar along the ground extending a bit further than the tyre would be enough to counteract the force exerted.
This gives me an idea I could mount the upright part to a concrete floor up against the wall in my shop, when I’m not using it I could take the handle off and it would be out-of-the-way
First thing I thought of was to make it fit the receiver tow clevis of my pickup and make the part that hits the tire adjustable length if needed. The long handle could be way shorter and just use a bar or pipe normally around the shop.
Wow, great! Amazing how the bead just pops out all around the rim. When I try it, only 5 to 7 inches pop, and they snap back as soon as I let go of the handle 😠

I had that idea too, just leave the upright outside, but I'd have to paint it and drill some drain holes first. I just unbolt it when I'm done.

Looks good, just wondering if it's a bit too pointed, maybe damage the inner edge of the tyres.
Thus far i haven't had to lean on it enough to damage them. I might add more of a spoon end to it.
