  • BUMPY ROAD CROCHET SPA HEADBAND
Easily hold your hair back from your face as you get a facial, apply your makeup or remove your makeup. This crochet spa headband is a free crochet pattern that will quickly become a favorite quick crochet gift.
Make one in every color of cotton from your stash of yarn. Give them away as unique handmade bridal shower gifts, a special handmade baby shower gift for mom, a crochet gift for Mother’s Day or as a special just because gift for a friend. Become a favorite friend, aunt, daughter, or mother with this crochet spa headband!
Like me, many people love to play with makeup and I can tell you that having my hair out of my face as I apply my make up and remove my make up is a must! So I made a fun diy headband for washing the face and putting on makeup.
The cute facial headband sample was made in one color but you could easily make it in 2 or more colors. This entire crochet spa headband took me a little more than 1 hour to make so it is a quick crochet gift. Partner it up with some cute face cloths that double as dishcloths and a nice bar of soap to make it a GREAT gift or the perfect little something to sell at a craft fair.

Thank you, Marley!! I have made one along with you and am tickled to learn how to make an I cord. I used the pinched version and after a few times it became easier. Also, on threading the cotton yarn to a darning needle, I use a small rectangular folded piece of paper in which I enclose my end tail, then I thread the paper through the needle eye and remove the paper, and voila! Threaded needle with no frayed yarn end! And it’s faster, too, in my experience anyway. I love my new headband and probably will make a few for friends and my daughter. Thanks again! ❤️

Hi Marly. It is Friday night and I have been working on your dishcloth pattern. I decided that this was a good time to put it down and watch this tutorial as I saw it yesterday and really love the way it looks. I have been watching you for many years now and this tutorial will always have a special place in my heart. You ministered to me with your kind words, which made me cry. Happy tears. I was really moved. What a blessing. You have always been an excellent teacher but you’ve put so much of you into this video. I look forward to finishing my dishcloth and starting this. You are so right! I have so much cotton yarn.God bless you Marly. Stay safe and thank you again. I will post pictures.💞

Fabulous tutorial, as always!!! Thank you so much!!! I have one tiny little hint for the crochet icord. I think I am right in saying that when you yo, do it the opposite way, so you will scoop up the yarn the same as knitting, and you won't be left with 'twisted' stitches. I must say though, it looks like it might be easier working the twisted stitches (through the back loop) now that I think of it. At any rate . . . I can't wait to try it!

The loose area of an icord is the reason I always avoided icord in the past. Your saved-stitch treated as a dropped stitch? Game changer! Thank you!

truthfully, I prefer knit icord but wanted to make it possible for crocheters to do as well. if you are a knitter I would just do a knit icord with all 4 loops.

This headband would also work great for the mask extensions, by putting a button on each side about where the ear would be. They can put the mask elastics over the button do it won't even touch their ears.

I was so psyched to try this and the band part was going along great, but then I got very confused at the icord part. Can you suggest a substitute stitch for the icord? Sending best wishes and much success.

i used 2 crochet hooks instead and the i cord came out beautiful but im stuck with the loop on the other side. currying through to the other side just messed up my pretty cord and now it looks awful

Hi Marley , I just subscribed to your The Crochet Channel on Roku. Wow thank you . I wanted to tell you on the icon for the Crochet Channel , there is two knitting needles stuck in a ball of yarn this should be changed. Wrong in so many ways. This is not knitting but crochet. One hook is needed. Ok please change it.

    • @Michelle.05

That's not Marly on Roku, someone stole her content and put it on there. She did a video about it either earlier this year or late last year.

I love the pattern but my only concern is that usually headbands usually slide down my hair and it won’t stay on, what could I do to change this.

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  4 ปีที่แล้ว

You could make the headband strap longer so it doesn't pull on the body. There is a risk that it will then fall down your face but then again it might be just the trick. Also, the headband falling down my hair happens to me too and I don't wear headband in my hair because of that other than to hold my hair back for a bit. I have used bobby pins to hold headbands in place in the past. I hope that helps.

You don't have blonde hair by chance? Mine is blonde and is so slick that headbands usually slip right off. I made a different headband pattern to add the buttons for the mask. I wanted to try before adding buttons and wasting time and yarn, I threw it on my head and was really surprised that the cotton tended to stay put pretty good. I wore it all day and it never came off. I was surprised!

Great pattern, Marly! The I-cord was a new skill for me and my first project using this type of cotton thread. I slip-stitched the I-cord section to the headband and it looked similar to the other side. Threading needles can be a pain. This is the method I use: th-cam.com/video/pU9lqtB69UQ/w-d-xo.html For the cotton thread, I untwisted it before I fold it. This makes the thread flatter when it gets folded making it easier to push through. Unsolicited advice I know, but I hope it helps.
