  • With this video, the INN-PRESSME project continues its knowledge series about all pilot lines of the European Open Innovation Test Bed research project. From laboratory to production to market - 16 pilot lines and 9 test cases are the basis for the #sustainable use of #biomaterials instead of fossil plastics.
In this episode, our Finnish partner VTT explains why PLAX dispersion will be the sustainable future of food packaging.
VTT Research Scientist Paulina Kivinen is responsible for the optimisation of the process to produce sprayable biomaterial based on plant fibers - the polylactide acid, PLA for short. One of the most important developments for the reduction of fossil plastic. The researcher's results are very promising and aim to bring the amount of biomaterial used to an industrial level.
See how this is working in the video.
