For the first time in my nearly 12 years of playing RotMG I've started playing on an actual pc with a 165Hz refresh rate monitor and I got so much better at the game. I know that's not something everyone can do but I just wanted to mention it.
Fr man, I got a 165hz laptop (HP Omen) and it was just wild to see the difference from my oldschool ASUS TUF laptop. Such a crazy difference in smoothness
One thing that helped me was to to look at it like, if you get better you'll always be able to do dungeons. So what is more important than 8/8 your character, is to be able to do the dungeons and progress. Once you got all the dungeons down, it doesnt matter if you're 8/8 or not cause you could easily get them. So progress your skill not your characters.
This. If you fundamentally are good, then a lousy character will only be a slow-down. Unless you are playing a game with broken mechanics. But here it's valid.
Once I got the patterns down in godlands, I would sometimes forget that I had sub T-7 gear, or a t-2 weapon and was getting comfortable with it.
And then people started dropping items on me. 😆

Its insane how long people have been paying this game, i started 8-10 and now im 19.
Right? I started when I was a teenager, now I'm 86.
My best tip for new players is that there are some situations where you need to dodge the individual shots, vs situations where you need to dodge the shot patterns (think MBD survival vs MBD post-survival)
My advice always is: uninstall and play an actually good game, lol

@@sheogorathdaedravich4826 me to till i die due to server lag and another bug, fuck this game and the money grabbing devs. They literally reduced the droprates of high tier items by a lot several times to make more sales. The original promise always was: "endgame is important and real-money items are always cosmetic" and it took them 2 years to ignore their own promise
I know this came out before moonlight village but nowadays there really is a proper reason to play with the camera centered
I still play with off-centered in MV, both the regular fight and Umi. Once you understand camera control like he mentioned, it's about how you set yourself and understand the phases. The only time I go back to centered is Shatter's Tablets, and that's because of the rampant 1 shot minions that can easily come from behind (and even then can be minimized with positioning and camera angles).

Nothing but facts here. People think "I just need good pet and items" or that its only on the fly dodging. 4/4 sets are only as good as the player's positioning and approach. LH's predictability is a perfect example of this. Crazy to free style, quite free with coordination
You can't deny that a divine pet and full survivability set makes most things way easier and some even afk.
@@vovablood 100% it will make some things easier. I will say pets make things a lot smoother, but 1. A 70-70 pet makes most gameplay smooth enough (this is from my new account experience), and 2. top players even do fine in NPE's, just slowing down instead of playing hyper aggressive.
As for gear, it helps of course, but most of the time to be a top percent player in o3's, Shatters or any dungeon really, it matters a lot more on how aggressive you play while still remembering how to position oneself for each phase and a thorough understanding of what will come next and how to recover if things start to go wrong. For example, you will still get popped whether you have Dragonscale armor or Royal Cuirass if O3 sits on you during Fates, but if you know what phases lead to fates and count beams, you can then prepare and avoid dying to that scenario where the survivability of the gear wouldnt matter at all. In fact, most top players learn to dps well by playing on tradable common, tradable gear such as WC or Void Tops and accept that they will likely die while trying to play aggressive, but that they're also learning and will be better for it as long as they reflect on what to do next time in that situation.

I always play centered ever since unity. I used to play scrolled down on flash bc you couldn’t see anything so I needed the forward vision

I like using centered cam when I’m fighting enemies that require constant rotation around them like Stheno for example.
It’s annoying and throws off your aim to nonstop rotate your camera when you can just switch to centered cam and not touch it.
My one friend cannot play with rotation and aways plays centered at 45 degrees. Kinda crazy
this is all great to know but the kicker is when you literally never get white bags or any good loot. super hard dungeons are too difficult and the risk/reward is Miserable so stuck in gland dungeon purgatory
