I'm half expecting the revival potion to have side effects that removes the listener's powers. Reducing him to a normal person and causing him to feel useless. And while he tries not to blame her since he's still alive because of the potion, a part of him does blame her since it was (in the grand scheme of things) her fault that he lost his powers. Meanwhile she tries to make a potion that can restore his powers, but none of them work. So, once he's recovered completely, he leaves and tries to live a normal life. They do keep in touch and hang out from time to time, but romance is a far away considering how low his self-esteem is. All the while she has to take over his position as hero and keeps working to fix things.
