I drive a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta that is a manual transmission. I catch so much hell shifting my car. As soon as some see my car rise then squat again from me just simply changing gears and accelerating, someone wants to race. The shit is annoying.

I estimate the Tesla was doing between 95 and 105 mph by counting the white lines the racing Tesla passed in a six second period prior to the Dodge rear ending the innocent victim. The Dodge was well past the range as it was closing rapidly.
Some people are just that stupid. I swear a good 10-20% of the videos on this awesome channel show the submitter of the video at some level of fault in their accidents. They always try to excuse their actions and play the blame game though.
Honestly though. Cars today are built so fucking fragile. I crashed an old 70' nova head on into a light pole once, was probably going about 55-60, took out the light pole and had to replace the bumper but that was it. Do the same thing in any modern car I guarantee you it's totaled.

Could happen to me, too. When I'm in the fast lane, going past a lot of other cars, I spend way less time watching the rear view mirror than otherwise. If some clown was trying to pass me on the right, I might not notice if he crashes. (I'm only in the fast lane when there is to much traffic further right) However, I'm not racing anyone.
Question for the bunch: what is excessive? The Tesla was going a bit fast for the situation, yes. But IMHO, not excessively so. Also, what's going on behind you usually is not your problem, unless you're planning a maneuver or going very slow. Hearing/noticing the crash? Nope. He was probably doing 90-110,, possibly there was music playing. At that speed, you hear nothing.

I live in Oakland. I'm pretty sure I've never seen a traffic cop giving a ticket, in over 20 years of driving. We have probably the most insane drivers in the country.

Could happen to me, too. When I'm in the fast lane, going past a lot of other cars, I spend way less time watching the rear view mirror than otherwise.
If some clown was trying to pass me on the right, I might not notice if he crashes. (I'm only in the fast lane when there is to much traffic further right)
However, I'm not racing anyone.

The Tesla was going a bit fast for the situation, yes. But IMHO, not excessively so.
Also, what's going on behind you usually is not your problem, unless you're planning a maneuver or going very slow.
Hearing/noticing the crash? Nope. He was probably doing 90-110,, possibly there was music playing. At that speed, you hear nothing.
@@EpicDrew15 I like to think that it's excessive when you pass cars over a certain speed difference like what we saw in the first clip. He was probably passing others at around 20mph faster than other cars, which in my opinion, is a bit excessive passing a car in an adjacent lane.
@@realulli 90-110 on any US freeway is excessive. But more to the point, the difference in speed of the Tesla vs the regular flow of traffic obviously rates as excessive. I’m not going to pretend to be a saint who drives the limit, but the Tesla driver can share a little blame for idiotic driving in this case. And please let’s not justify that he didn’t notice the crash ... we all know he was watching what the Challenger was doing behind him as much as eyes to the front ... and probably laughing as he drove away.

Closer to 6.5 mph. If you are stopped and get rear ended at an actual impact speed of 65 mph, you can pretty much count on someone dying.

3:00 Changing lanes in an intersection. 10:40 When I drove a van, I was amazed at the people who would just dart into the intersection instantly when the light turned green, even though they were blind to the speeding car running the light on the other side of my van.
I can totally imagine in 5 years that if someone screws around with your tesla, it takes their picture, then looks online for a face match so you can send the perpetrator a bill or send it to the police if they don't want to pay.

Um... no, that Subaru that rear ended the Sienna and Tesla was not traveling 65. Not at all. Look at the traffic elsewhere. Remember, everyone was already slowing down due to the traffic buildup on the exit/entrance
Yup, if that was 65mph the damage would've been a lot worse than we see in the rear camera, more like there wouldn't be a rear camera left.

That's called a California stop. When they turn right, they stop in or after the crosswalk. Cops don't care so they all do it.
