As a newbie to Resolve, I appreciate the thorough tutorial you provided. It's frustrating though, as something like this can literally be accomplished in just a few minutes in Camtasia. I wish there was an editing program with the powerful simplicity of Camtasia but with the color grading and audio of Resolve. It's nice to know it can be done in Resolve though. Thanks! :)
I get you, camtasia is a good program but its mainly all presets and it doesnt have any tracking features. Resolve could easily throw a pop up text message but it wont look like the real thing. Hence why there is so many different parts to this video, I am going for the effects you see on tv :) I use camtasia to record my screen but thats about it. Btw, love the bunnies you have :)
@@BillyRybka You're right, there's no auto tracking, but custom animations are pretty easy to add. Resolve definitely produces a high quality result...it's just so difficult to learn for non-millennials like me, ha ha. :)

I understand your pain as I am in the same boat. Fusion is not an easy bone. I get often frustrated how difficult it can be to make simple tasks. Although many people like it I am not one of them but as it is inside of Resolve I know I have to dominate it one day or another to improve my workflow. But no love to this hard rock.

When you add the ‘typing’ image and connect the delta keyer to the merge section.. on the video your immediately shows up in the window in the right. Mine doesn’t and I’m not sure if there’s a button or something to ‘bring to front’ the ‘typing’ picture 🤷♂️ hopefully you understand 😄

They literally will not show up on the screen. The only one that will is the the recieve one. Any help? No idea what I am doing wrong... maybe a setting? I am following the video to a T

Hey thanks a lot for this tutorial. I have an effect in mind I'd really appreciate if you could help me figure out how I can achieve it. I'm still new to DaVinci. So there will be 3 characters sitting in front of each other, and they will be communicating using the note app in the phone. Basically it's the same as texting but the character will be typing in their note app. When one of them is typing, we see the note app popping up on screen next to them but what they're typing is appearing facing them not us so everything will look reversed and mirrored. But when they're finally showing the note to the other person, we see the phone and the popup note app together turning to the other person (and the camera and we can finally make sense of what they've typed. Get it? I'm thinking it'll be very similar to the effect in the tutorial. The only difference will probably be the asset we use. We'll want to use a long notepad screenshot and make it dissolve as the text keeps adding by the characters. What else should I do?
Hey Billy, this is pretty old video now, but i'm having a slight issue with the tut. my Text1 text seems to appear behind my screen. I can't get it to appear over the bubble (receive). I've configured this according to your tut but i'm on Davinci18 now. suggestion?
