      A injection mold generally can go for $50 000 I know because I asked st Clair college I their engineering wing & a desktop machine is at desktop is still $12500 at cheap vs a $500 3DPrinter & no retooling at little to no cost

    Could you guys please do a video on flip top bottle cap hinge design (Bistable live hinge)?. Thanks.

    • @trexinvert
      @trexinvert 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's called a live hinge, and you almost exclusively use polypropylene. Google terms for more info. Keep on.

    • @karthick86c
      @karthick86c 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@trexinvert Thanks for your reply. I understand its called a live hinge. I was looking more into how the parameters for the hinge, like its thickness, length etc. are chosen for a given application. I am not able to find how people professionally design such hinges. Thanks.

      @@ramand6490 It is quite difficult to get any info on practical design of such hinges. Seems to me that industry does it through trial and error

    • @ramand6490
      @ramand6490 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@karthick86c i think its not that hard ,it all depnds on size of component the game is all around length and witdth of plastic and v-bend of hinge ... And most imp is you have to close the cap when the part is eject because it is hot at that time so it takes round shape easily during heated stage. ,,, actually our company had designed this components so we did lot of research and found out there no particular formula

      you have no idea how stupid and hacky and illicit 99% of entrepeurs are. Their only common ground is a passion... for getting rich quick. The mold analysis phase is probably a gateway to keep those types of creeps out of their way. Most clowns would send it then manipulate the fabrication contractor into eating the loss. Lawsuit after lawsuit. Thats all these hacks know, is how to rip people off. This video is a heads up, and a good fair way to show, they aren’t wasting their time with clowns or ripoff artist. Thats my hunch, anyhow.
