      @@24Raby I agree. One thing about that, you can't audible plays when you can't read a defense before the snap. These new quarterbacks don't know what they doing. They have all the physical tools but what's more important is the brain

    • @yellowkindbud
      @yellowkindbud 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Dee--Jay it's a bigger criticism of the kind of offenses run in college now. They work in college against lesser talent pretty consistently. They don't in the NFL. So they get a lot of easy reads and at most have to decide to run it or pass it. They don't have to go through proper progressions and the plays being run aren't much like what is done in the NFL anyway.
      That said, that ain't always the case. Teams like Ohio St. and Alabama do run more pro style offenses. The offense Purdy ran at Iowa also was more pro style. You can't say Purdy wasn't ready to read the field. Guy is one of the best in the league at it and is only getting ready to start his 3rd season.
      CJ also did a nice job running the pro style offense as well. Burrow. LSU. Another pro style college offense. Jalen Hurts. Alabama. Tua. Alabama again.
      I think Tom is wrong on this at the highest level. I think he's right about it in general. Definitely some QBs have come to the NFL and struggled because of this. They usually don't last.

Alot of times people miss out on healthy long-term relationships because of everyone else's opinion instead of their own facts; like they enjoy cooking cleanin and everything domestic, and it's their role in the relationship, but they allow people to convince them its wrong etc and ruin a whole healthy situation. And even in short term relationships, they can be healthy too if you’re secure with what's most important to you and they provide it.

    I think Ocho is getting confused about what a Field General is. Peyton and Brady are the embodiment of that title they have complete control over their respective offenses. They can analyze defenses quickly and change the play to counter. They're basically playing chess against defenses as Ray Lewis says.
    Brock Purdy and Jared Goff are Game Managers they make limited mistakes and take what the defense gives them. They don't run their offenses or make complete changes at the line.
    As of now, Brady was the last General every QB including Mahomes is just different. Most are Game Managers while Mahomes, Lamar, Allen, and Burrow are game-changer QBs with enate talent good enough to propel their offenses.

At the end of the day it's a different solution to the same problem. @aaronjackson9385 when he got his leg broke in the second game of the year and they changed the rule that players couldn't hit qbs below the knees... yes, that was Tom Brady! And it wasn't every sb, but the first 3 sb's when vinaterie won those games, Brady was game managing... stop lying to yourself, you know it😅😅

      @@ronaldpatterson1701 leg broke? Second game?? Dont even know what youre talking about. The rule was originally put in place because Carson Palmer got his knee taken out. 3 years before the Brady injury. Vinatieri did what?? He missed 2 out of 3 fgs in SB38. The one he hit was a 41 yarder. Easy. SB39? He hit a 19 yard chip shot to extend the lead to 10. Philly scored another td to cut it to 3. You were saying? If youre gonna be a hater, atleast be knowledgeable.

      I don't think he's talking about Mahomes. He's talking about Lamar and Allen more than anyone else. Those guys are playmakers, but they both lack some fundamentals that used to be essential for a guy to be a "great" quarterback. Lamar can't complete his read progressions half the time, and Allen makes consistent bonehead mistakes. Both are great quarterbacks, but they aren't "field generals" like Manning or Brady were.

    I think guys who played in the NFL &NBA pre 2015 are a little worried. Their numbers getting surpassed because of implemented rule changes,favoring offenses. They probably daydreaming about the stats they'd put up today.

    Ok shannon you are right Tom is looking at himself, but he's the ultimate gamer the NFL has ever seen. As much as he wanted to win he wanted to respect the other side equally. It's the highest of standards but if you want to keep the game growing it takes that. You can't let an era or a superior team get in your way of winning. Simple as that. If there was ever a voice on how to approach the game mentally Tom Brady has EVERY RIGHT to put his 2 cents in. All this talent means nothing if you can't lead a group of men in the highest of times or the lowest of times and showing you're still hungry each and every single year. Nobody is like Tom. He is giving the answers in plain site.
