    You cry less when your $35 keyboard gets dropped or soaked with coffee/beer. Multiple keyboards are handy, too, and that adds up. This kind of gear can hold you over for awhile. Thanks for the video!

      Hey Bro, how good/bad is the keys velocity? I'm interested in to making some drum beats with it

    • @ValoricStarlight
      @ValoricStarlight 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@ezkoria9017 The keys and velocity are fairly decent. A bit stiff when you first get them but they do loosen up. The velocity curve is weird, but that could be down to the fact im not exactly used to velocity sensitive keys. It's kinda like a Roland EG-101 keybed but a bit stiffer. It's not bad at all though, and you really get used to it. Well worth the money.

    Thanks for the great no-nonsense reviews. I think I actually like the look of this cheapest one the most, as far as mini controllers go. Proper pitch and mod wheels, octave AND semitone transpose buttons, sustain input, USB port at the back (cables at the side tend to get in the way more, IMO) and an extra half octave in about the same dimensions as some of the 25-key ones. That's a better feature set than the Nektar SE25, Arturia Microlab, and M-Audio Keystation Mini 32, regardless of price!

  • @NoahPrince.2
    @NoahPrince.2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I started with this keyboard for my first 4 years and I loved it so much. If you're reading this comment and considering this keyboard, I definitely recommend it.
    The keybed doesn't necessarily offer great velocity control, but it was good enough for music production. If I were targeting like 50% velocity, my DAW would read either 75% or 25%. It was hard to nail anything in between, however, that was fine considering I could manually change the velocity if I wanted.
    Unless you're an experienced piano player, you won't necessarily feel restricted by the lack of octaves for at least a couple years. At least you have the buttons on the side to change octaves (transpose).
    Otherwise, it worked like a charm. It lasted this entire time. I'm upgrading to the Keystation 88 MK3 for anyone wondering...

      @NoahPrince.2 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @BradyBouren Yes I'm 99% sure it will work... You may have to spend a few minutes configuring some settings to get your PC to detect the keyboard. That's the problem I ran into on my DAW Studio One, but I just Googled it and got it to work 5 minutes later lol
      But yes it should definitely work with GarageBand.

    What's up John Mike. I just purchased this midi controller through your affiliate link. I was looking for a small midi controller for drum programming(and possibility bells, synth leads, etc). Sometimes it's awkward to program drums with my weighted controller and I've found I prefer using keys over drum pads. Came across this controller and found your review. Thanks for the information. Depending on what you need, for the price this controller is a winner. Looking forward to adding it to my setup.

    @John Mike Thank you so much for reviewing this! I found this keyboard on amazon! Definitely going to pick this up. I'm a musician! Been blind since birth, and I'm planning on snagging this, as well as an audio interface. I'm a guitarist as well besides a pianist, and keyboardist. My favorite musical influences are Russ, Post Malone, and Randy Roads, whose my favorite guitarist who worked on Ozzy Ozborne's first few albums! Question for you! Will this keyboard tolerate FL studio? I'm a windows user, and got an HP laptop that has FL studio on it. Planning on using this keyboard to make beats in FL studio. You know, create my own drum kit, and use the keys on this keyboard to make beats from the drum kit with a bit of assistance from someone whose good at setting up kits for me in FL studio. Gonna record drum loops in FL studio, and use my audio interface to track electric guitar. And make it more of an instrumental project with 808 trap beats and distorted guitar effects! Just wanna know if this keyboard will tolerate FL studio. Feedback's much appreciated! Aain thank you so much for this review! Gonna read up on some reviews of this instrument before I buy it!

    i just got one using your affiliate link. good stuff. was considering the M Audio Keystation Mini 32 MK3, but your review showed it did not have a sustain pedal input, and yeah, that's a deal breaker, even though it's 2 inches less long, and would have been better since I would set it on my lap at my recliner to work. gotta have a sustain pedal, though. I'm also looking into the Korg nanoKontrol 2 you mentioned.

    Hey Mike, thanks for the review (as always). I have a question: you know how a lot of vst instruments have some switching parameters in the lower octaves (eg: holding a key to sustain notes in a bass)? I was wondering if I connect this with my m32 in the same channel in my DAW, you think I could use this little guy for the "switch keys" and affect the parameters for both keyboards (eg: I press the sustain key on this one and the notes on the m32 are sustained as well)?

    I have been using the keyboard for a while and its not that bad and definitely worth its price HOWEVER I have difficulty playing drums. The stiff and small keys and poor velocity curve aside, I notice there is a delay. So when playing, I play "ahead" of the beat to hear the note come out on time when I'm recording, but then in playback it sounds ridiculous.. I know the keyboard is its own sound card, and sound cards have a lot to do with the latency, so I am wondering, might it benefit me to buy a better midi keyboard? Thanks!

    Mouse and keyboard is far superior than this. Inconstant keys that hardly ever register. I had to fight against it to use it to the extent of being painful.
    I can understand a cheap machine being... cheap... But when it actually works against you? That is no short of absurd.

      You connect it to pc, remember the sound is not coming form the keyboard, in this case the sound comes from the PC
