I had an 89 1.6 petrol estate as a taxi during the 90s. A really excellent car. Lightweight, spacious and sharp-handling. Mine ran to 208,000 miles with little work beyond standard maintenance. I'd have another like a shot-but without all those electrical extras to go wrong!
if you live in iran and drive everyday a 405 with china quality and you must buy a normal toyota yaris 2010 same price a toyota yaris 2022 full option . You didn't wish like that (:

I believe the 405 is one of the greatest cars ever made for his segment, one of the few cars that truly conquer the world with his reliability, you still find them in the Middle East, Europe, South Asia, Africa etc...

This car is not Iranian car. It was assembled in Iran. In fact all cars claimed (Made in Iran) is assembled in Iran. There is no car 100% designed and made in Iran.
They are slowly starting to move on but yeah it's embarrassing considering the most powerful engine that ikco has at the moment (the company who made 405 (iranian version) and pars) only makes 150 horsepower, the ef7 turbo
Would consider buying the 405 if it had the original interior from year 1990. I really hate the modern, cramped interior of cars now available. If I cannot see and pet the legs of lady next to me, I dislike the car interior.

I wish we could still produce older models like this in the west they were more reliable cars and simple to work on

Great video! However, the last Peugeot that was sold in North America was the Peugeot 505 Station Wagon. Just wanted to correct that
At least one shipment of 405s made it to North America in 1989 and some were sold to US customers, even though most went to the Canadian market.
....405 even had US bumpers....

it is not being produced in Iran anylonger
But the internet and the official website of the iranian car manufacturer (Iran Khodro) says they do it!(still producing the car)
