The real reason is that they were trying to soften the blow of her elimination by lessening her presence on the show. It backfired, because we all love miss Shuga despite her minimal screen time. Production already had storylines for Brooke, Nina, Vanjie, Silky, Yvie and to a lesser extent A'keria but left out Shuga because they expected her to be filler. She proved them wrong, ugh her MIND

Alcatel Pixie never in a million years even if ru really likes vanjie, that bitch yvie got a hundred tricks in her sleeve so ru wouldn’t have taken that risk, personally I think silky or A’Keria deserved to lipsyinc against vanjie, but silky is another protégée of rupaul so she wouldn’t have sent her home and A’Keria would have smashed vanjie specially with that song, so shuga was the safe card to put against vanjie
Ru started to transition from more of a creative director to producer after season 6 and it peaked in s9 to now -when season 5 blew up and they had the first high budget reunion and recap, he looked so authentically involved IN on it. Now he’s producing his own show - he’s keeping Silky for the drama and entertainment, Vanessa because she already has a fan base, and absolutely targets “quiet” people like Shuga because in his eyes they don’t make interesting television. She straight up told Brooke Lynn on camera in not so many words to up and inflate her personality or it’d be an issue.
Jordyn Reina tbh I don’t think Shuga or Vanjie deserved the bottom. It should’ve been Silky for that bad padding, which was way worse than what they were telling her off for and they loved Vanjie’s runway and also A’keria for not wearing a kaftan, but her acting redeemed her I think.
Lisa 1986 silky's padding would be a justified excuse in top 5. but she actually successfully did the challenge regardless of the shitty padding. vangies entire segment was a miss lol if anything it shouldve been yvie vs vangie cause no one even remembers yvie's magic trick

Jordyn Reina tbh I don’t think Shuga or Vanjie deserved the bottom. It should’ve been Silky for that bad padding, which was way worse than what they were telling her off for and they loved Vanjie’s runway and also A’keria for not wearing a kaftan, but her acting redeemed her I think.
Lisa 1986 silky's padding would be a justified excuse in top 5. but she actually successfully did the challenge regardless of the shitty padding. vangies entire segment was a miss lol if anything it shouldve been yvie vs vangie cause no one even remembers yvie's magic trick
