Fractal vices are super-cool tools to have but smooth jaws have their limitations, as opposed to the diagonally-knurled, serrated jaws that most bench vices come with and those fractal jaws will only grip an object from moving up and down, as well as any smooth metal surface can and when you multiply the verticle facets to better grip the object horizontally, the jaws just become 'rails' in a vertical sense, due to less gripping surface. I would suggest putting multiple metal blocks if nessasary underneath the object to support downward pressure.
I appreciate them opening this up for collectors and preservation. But also to be able to support all these crafts people and keep the lights on. And TIL what amberlith and rubylith is.
❤ Seriously, could you just keep coming back here every now and then on a semi permanent basis to show us other printed props? So many hidden treasures and stories those items have to tell!
Piece of the Past , a notorious conman with nationwide forgery ring autographs , is doing biz with EHP......strangely enough EHP refuses to comment on this.
I bought my Rick Deckard ID card and the Back To The Future license plates over a week ago, when they first announced that they were selling replicas. Thanks Adam and Michael!
I have to be honest, I was surprised when Michael said that he worked with then for inly 2 years! He sounds like he’s been working there for ages! Just goes to show you how much he loves that place :)
So nice seeing two people so excited about a passion they share and with such respect for each other. This is what sum up the Maker space / STEAM etc. People doing things and comming togather for the passion and joy of it, and wanting to share that with the world.
It dawned on me a few days ago that if places like this that make props that show up in so many places, were to make the dimensions available to the general public, prop replicators would have a lot more references to work with. That is, instead of having to figure out how big a gun or book or swoard is based on a guesstimate of the actor's height, you could figure it out based on knowing the exact size of, for example, the newspaper the actor set it down on or the can of Smeat it's sitting next to.
I've really been loving this series of videos. It continues to amaze me just how much has been created over the years and the pure joy on Adams face as he discovers more and more
Oh this is so smart! Sell the printings, cuz that's what they DO there! And with Michael and his team to identify and tell us the history of every item, we get to benefit, and he gets to geek out, and we LEARN stuff, and history gets preserved! This is like the Library of Alexandria, but as a printing shop that can easily make and disseminate copies of its treasure trove!
Thank you so much for all the videos you've done at Earl Hayes Press; the stuff you've shown us there has been consistently amazing. And thank you to introducing us to Michael Corrie- I immediately subscribed to his channel and have been consistently rewarded with his excellent videos.
You would think that places like this, (and I’m sure there aren’t as many of these prop places exactly like this) could have already put props up for sale just to generate revenue. You know the demand is high for many movie props. Who wouldn’t want license plates, or newspapers? This is pretty cool for sure. I bet the blade runner ID badge won’t go for cheap if they are limited. It’s pretty sweet to see things that we really take for granted in the movie industry…that’s part of the movie magic. Love it!
What I"m really curious about is how much they sold this stuff originally to the movie/tv production? How much does a pack of Morley cigarettes go for to The X-Files? Are we getting them at a steep discount of only $25, or is that a price a TV production would pay? $25 seems cheap for a prop.
Truly both a national and cultural treasure house. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing so much more in the future that can be uncovered and rediscovered.
A lot of iconic recreations of well remembered, and loved movies! That's totally cool. I'd be drooling over the Sports almanac recreation, and the back to the future license plate! They look great, and painstakingly made.
Very cool! I sent Earl Hays Press an e-mail a few weeks ago asking if it would be possible to purchase some copies of old battery labels that Adam showed in a previous video. So far no response from them at all. Hopefully they will add them to their shop, soon.
Man, really tempted to purchase the $240 "Blade Runner ID Police Wallet Badge" from EHP to go with my Paragon FX Deckard's hero blaster prop. Have to see what's like by late December this month if the badge still around. If sold out, no big deal, but from the original prop house making it, its a rare opportunity and big deal to obtain originally made (not ETSY) Hollywood prop by EHP. Tempted...tempted...
This is awesome. I found another site that sells movie a show license plates that are stamped instead of the lettering being printed on. It’s called celebrity machines. I have no affiliation with them.
OMFSM that's so cool! A lot of these are sold out already so I ordered the OUTATIME license plate while I still could. I didn't see the ECTO-1 though. So excited!

Ooh, a copy of the great Atlantic Monthly cover from Ghostbusters (The caricatures and "Do ghosts have civil rights?") would be great! (Assuming the Atlantic is cool with it, anyway.)
I bought one of the BBTF license plates, but have a friend who is part of a HUGE GB community who would DIE to get a copy of the Ecto-1 plate made from the original plates. I guess I'll have to let him know to check the site every day or so.
I am confident that Michael has been randomly releasing Sports Almanacs into the market for years. (Joking, btw) 😂 There are SO many of them in auctions and prop sites.
@@PropsToHistory Sorry if this sounded accusatory, I was totally joking at the fact that there are so many floating around. I wonder, how many were production made for BttF 2?
@@PropsToHistoryI just bought one from them and didn’t receive a certificate of authenticity. Is there someone at EHP that I should contact about that?
Please let me know when the Ghost Buster magazine cover drops. I would love to buy one. Also, if the Mill Valley newspaper about the clock tower ever gets reprinted, I would love one of those as well. Thanks!

I hope they put serialized hologram stickers on those COAs with a QR code to validate the COA too. Its not difficult to duplicate a COA with no verification attributes
So I just received my “Back to the Future” license plate. Took a long time but I understand this video caused them to have a run on orders. I’m pretty unhappy with the quality of mine. They were obviously rushed and the condition of mine shows that.
That's most likely, because 5th Element wasn't a hollywood production, but a european one. Luc Besson is french, and although it had to be filmed in London due to the lack of sufficient facilities, it has been produced by Gaumont. Which is a french company and btw. the oldest existing production company for movies in the world.
