This is my third Magnolia dupes video. I did the first two last June after visiting the Silos in Waco. Although I haven’t been back to Texas, I thought you might like a few more ideas on copying Joanna Gaines’s style for a fraction of cost. As a side note, I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner, but you could attach the corner braces to the underside of the semi-circle shelves pointing downward (which would still support quite a bit of weight) and they would be much less noticeable. Hope you all have a great week. I am running errands today before the snow storm hits this evening.☃️
Also, I thought you could use two of those round trays (cut in half) and stack them so they have more girth...kinda like me after my winter hibern-eating!
👋🌞Good morning Sherry!
I finished up a few minor quick chores. I am now nestled on the couch, to enjoy your vlog with my first cup of coffee. Sooooooo excited to watch it. I will comment post-vlog.
Let's get started....
Stay warm and safe . Sounds like you need lots of hot beverages!☕🫖
We are expecting 12+ inches here in the Fishers, IN area. 15-20 mins NE of Indianapolis. We are also in the line for the other stuff south of us.
👋🌞@Canterbury Cottage
Good morning, again, Sherry!
Ok, time for comments.
For the half shelves, you can find cleat (sp?) kits at hardware stores to attach to wall and your wooden strip that you added. It would give the appearance of a floating shelf. Or they also have floating shelf kits too. Just a suggestion.
Love the leather napkin ring dupe!😍
Your lampshade stand and planter look adorable! The flowing ivy really looks fabulous on it. You did a great job upstyling
I think you need to add a "love" button rather than "like" !!! You are amazing. Can't wait to try some of these !
Sherry, I become very unhappy when I'm nearing the end of your videos. I could watch all day. I think I've already seen all of your past ones. Your talent is extraordinary and your personality and teacher are stellar.
Do you remember watching a thrilling series on T.V and you can’t wait for the next episode, well Sherry this is how I feel each week waiting for your next episode! I am never disappointed, you come up with the best ideas and I just love everything you do. Being from England I just love your style and wanted to tell you that you have captured the English cottage style so well !kudos Sherry you make my heart sing xx
Jeannette, totally!🥰💕
Oh, Jeanette! That means SO MUCH! I often wonder what the English think of Americans copying their style. (Especially, since our houses are big and boring without the quirkiness of a true English cottage.) I am doing a cottage style refresh of my bedroom, so I will be very curious to see what you think of that. BTW the thrilling TV series that I am watching now is “The Gilded Age” by the creator of “Downton Abbey.” Only two episodes out so far, but I am hooked!
@@CanterburyCottage I’m sure they take it as a compliment, the fact that you do it so well I’m sure they probably copy from you, your home is stunning! You are truly gifted xxx
I totally agree!
Good Morning! I had my coffee ready for your visit. Welcome dear friend!
I am just made my first cup, so you beat me!😊
I always save your videos until I have some quiet time all alone to enjoy them. As so many others have remarked you totally astound me every week with not only your creativity, but your craftsmanship and attention to detail. I often sit and stare at the pile of insulators, urns, frames, lamps, and cool bits of debris I've collected, and think 'what would Sherry do with this or that?' Love not only your ideas but your presentation. TFS
If you ever feel like experimenting with a little more texture - try adding a small amount of the Dollar Tree fine white sand you your joint compound and chalk paint. It comes out amazing! Loved everything you did as usual. You are so talented.
Beautiful! Thanks! May Jesus continue to bless you and your family
Gotta agree with you Sherri. Magnolia is way too expensive. Your Dupes rock the house.
Lord, women I love all your ideas. I think the music sheets and the picture.
I love watching older items being turned into new & useful things, especially the plant stands & the hanging round shelving basket! Thanks so much for sharing your creativity & talent!!! Blessings!
Great duplicates ! I am with you, if I can get the same effect without spending as much money, then I am happy.
I have a suggestion for hanging your adorable shelves; flip the L brackets upside down and attach the shelf from under instead above the shelf. It might still show a little, unless you add a "skirt" made of balsa wood or plastic "wood" trim like the original shelves have. A lot of great ideas to add to my notebook of crafty things to do.
You are so right! I don’t know why I didn’t orient the L brackets that way!😜
Sherry I have never seen anything that you’ve done that I didn’t like. I really believe each item that is Upcycled is one more thing that we have recycled and kept out of the landfill. Plus how wonderful to be able to say “oh I made it out of some old pieces and parts I had laying around!” You turn old pieces and parts into one of a kinds!
Dear Sherry, You've done it again. I am so entertained and inspired when I watch your videos. I live in the southernmost part of Texas and had to turn on the air-conditioner for a little while because the office temperature was at 81 degrees. I hope you stay warm safe during the snow storm. Thanks for entertaining all of us. Liz, Your Virtual Neighbor
Air conditioning in February! They have increased the snow amounts to possibly 18 inches now!🥶
I live in south Texas also.
Wow, these are all beautiful. Honestly, I think I prefer your dupes to the Magnolia brand. You are so clever; a real idea machine. Thank you Sherry!
Wow! I am blown away with your projects! They look great and are so much like Magnolia but so much less expensive. Thank you for sharing your creativity.
I wait all week for your video. Then I watch it and enjoy all of your ideas. When I’m done I, I’m sad because I have to wait a whole week for another video. You are so talented. Thank you!
Oh Miss Sherrie, don’t ever change!! I love your videos, your delightful delivery style, your kind heart and your passion for all you share. Am going through an immensely difficult time in my life, but really look forward to Tuesdays, you make me smile when not much else does! Blessings to you and your family. From Suzanne, a Brit in Ontario xx
You are so kind, Suzanne! I am so very sorry that times are difficult for you. Praying that they will be short lived and that brighter days will soon be here.
Sherry I look forward to your videos when I have severe pain and am stuck in bed I binge watch them. I love to create and it is always fun to see what someone else creates. I liked the half round shelves, the lamp shade plant stand with decoupage pot, tree sketch, white dot vase, blue and white paint inlay distressed vase and the basket shelf wall hanging. I hope your doing ok with all the snow we've received. Our stores are having a terrible time getting supplies and many are limited as to the quantity you can purchase, let's not even get into the raised prices. I was amazed that all of our stores were out of many supplies like bread, milk, eggs, most meats ,frozen vegetables and the list goes on. I know because of supply issues and rising prices that many don't have extra supplies on hand and with the threat off being home bound people stocked their pantries and emptied store shelves. Hope everyone is doing ok and remember to take it easy if shoveling snow and dress to stay warm. Thanks again for another great video. 😊👍❄
Tuesday mornings are my favorite- the first thing I do is see what Sherry has made! Alway always awesome
Thank you, Kim!😊
Loved the plant stands and trellises. 😊
Hi Sharon here , I am gutted haha , I binge watched your channel after only discovering it about 3 weeks ago and now I have to wait for Tuesday to come round to watch more , absolutely love watching what you do , your ideas are unique , thank you for brightening up my days , sending love x
Well Joanna Gaines will be so proud. I know its simple but the last project was beautiful. I can see some great projects using that idea. Your vases are even better than the originals. Doesn't it blow your mind how much they charge because it has her name on things. I'm very happy to see these. I love it when you do the dupes. I'm not surprised at all that yours are better. Maybe Joanna needs to take some inspiration from you. Well done today. I've watched 2 times but I gotta see it again and actually take notes this time.
Sweet, Charlotte! I am so glad you enjoyed today’s video! The framed music sheets and tree sketch are so over priced! I would never pay that much!
I am not a great fan of Joanna Gaines, but I can imagine these dupes in a more colorful option. That's what I usually do. I've been a Cottage design fan for 20 years. These are great dupes! I love the small "lamp" table. I thought you were going to use the clock face, face up. I would have liked to have seen that. And why not? You've shown that almost anything can be turned into something useful and stylish. That's why you are the number One show on my list of what to watch every week on TH-cam. 😊
I just love the vase with your commentary as you work on it. "I've completely lost count of how many layers of applied to this vase. I don't even remember what it originally looked like. But I know what it looks like now and I love it and I will not be selling it anytime soon!!" LMBO!!!!
*Your work is incredible*
Wow Sherry! I really like the magnolia style too but I LOVE these dupes. Not only are they beautiful but they look like real fun to make. I will try the bud vase for sure, and the woven circle wall shelf is amazing. It’s your bravery that’s my favorite part of your channel. Who would “just do it” and put those wood pieces in a basket to make it so perfect? Not many, but you are inspired! Many thanks again 😊
Thank you, Stephanie! You are always so very sweet! I love the challenge of duping high priced decor, but I never know how they will turn out. I was wishing that I had found a brown round wicker tray for the wall shelf, but it was red, so I painted it white. That ended up being a blessing because I could use caulk, and I didn’t have to cut the ends of my boards to an exact angle. (It was far too cold in my garage this week to attempt “perfect” angles!)
Sherry I always look forward to Tuesdays. I was in total awe at how you were able to dupe the items. You are truly very creative & purposeful. Thank you
Thank you, Carlene! Trying to dupe high priced decor is a fun challenge. I’m never sure how things are going to turn out, so I am so glad that you enjoyed watching my science experiments!
I get up at 5am. I keep checking to see if maybe its gonna be early. 🤗🤗🤗
@@charlotted6247 That is so sweet, Charlotte! I actually can schedule the release ahead of time. I upload the video on Monday, and set the time. Sometimes, I am still sleeping Tuesday morning when the video is released! 😜
I just cannot wait to go to our local kringloop for more things to alter and upcycle! Thanks for the inspiration, kind Sherry! It is always a pleasure. Love from The Netherlands.
I just Googled “kringloop” and Goodwill ads popped up! I love that the word means “cycle”! That is so appropriate! Hope your kringloop has some great things!
These are all so very nice Sherry!!! But I must say the mercury vase transformation is by far my favorite! You hit that one slap out the ball park! It looks almost identical to the magnolia inspirational vase. Great video as always! Our styles are very different but I always learn from you!!! Thank you for sharing, be blessed!
I am so glad you enjoy the DIY’s even though our styles are different. I find that as I get older I gravitate to the traditional/vintage decor that was popular during my childhood.
I love it!! For me it makes me want to craft out of my normal genre. It's funny I find myself gravitating towards the decor and style of the 90s. Even for my wedding lol. I want the frills and all!
Merci pour toutes vos idées que j’attends avec impatience chaque mardi 😁😁😁😁👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you, Pat! 😊
This is currently my #1 anticipated channel! And not just on TH-cam, but all platforms like Hulu, Netflix and cable. It’s awesome! Great job! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I am so so flattered! I am just tickled that you are enjoying my channel because I love what I am doing! Thank you so much, Gina!
What a fantastic use for an old lampshade. I'm never going to throw one out again.
I have never binge watched anyone before. You are a DIY diva I want to be you
the bumpy vase @ 14: 10 made me grin and breathe out a little "huff' as soon as you applied the "gem" strips. *genius!*
Sherry, tuning in to your channel is the highlight of my TH-cam watching week. I love how you can look at something and turn an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan. Your eye for detail, your problem solving abilities and your resourcefulness are remarkable. Blessings from The Great White North!❤️🇨🇦
Every single one of these were magnificent! Thank you lovely lady!
You are so welcome, Ana! I’m so pleased you liked them!😊
@@CanterburyCottage I love them ❤️
Lol, I cracked up when you said the shelf looked like a wicker tray to you! You have a good eye for seeing through the layers and finding the base of things. I loved all of your projects. Using old lamp shades for plant stands and harps as trellises was genius. Thank you for sharing. Hugs, Julie 🥰
What makes ur dupes fantastic is not just because they r cheaper to make is u have made each project by ur hand! I doubt Joanna even designs her own stuff let alone makes anything herself anymore! Great great work on ur part!
Hi Sherry ….. has anyone ever asked you to do outdoor patio or fountain or wall decor … Spring / summer ideas. Can’t wait to hear back from you 😀😀😀
I love the vase you keep repurposing and I laughed out loud and scared my kitty cat when you said the wicker basket was red. Obviously you are a crafty woman! Thanks for all the inspiration!
I have to be totally honest here. I liked your make overs far better than Magnolias. Your imagination over whelms me at how creative you are. I have to really think as which one was my favorite as I loved them all. To think real hard it would be 2 of them. The metal table that you used a metal plate n the lamp shade n using the hearth for a vine to grow up on. Those were awesome. You never disappoint me when I watch your channel n surprise me every time.
Keep creating. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍
Every dupe was terrific. They were all doable, affordable. Well done Sherry! 🤗
Hi, Sherry! Love your creative ideas! A simple hack: Take a hairdryer to adhesive labels and let them heat up for a spell. Take a pair of tweezers and lift.
I love these hacks! But Those L brackets on the half circle shelves are upside down! The long piece goes down under the shelf.
All of these projects were beautiful! In fact, I think the dupes looked nicer than the originals.
Very difficult to choose a favorite but loved using the lamp harps as trellises!
As you probably know, lamps are one of my favorite things to pick up at thrift stores, so I have a huge pile of old harps. I was surprised at how much I liked the way they looked in a plant pot. It think I’m going to paint one green or blue for a plant in my bedroom!
If I could like your videos 100 times I would .A very smart lady .
I loved that old clock face that you used on the lamp-to-table dup and I would have used it face up on the table!.. I am going to need to decompress after this video is over - lol... seriously, though, this dup was my favorite and I have just the lamp to use... all the dups were wonderful and I will be attempting several (especially the dot vase)... thanks for your wonderful ideas...
The toile vase with all the layers! 🥰
Hi Sherry! I think you're being modest!!! Your dupes ate nicer than the originals. The added benefit is that yours are one-of-a-kind originals that can't be found in a catog or shop. Just beautiful ❣
Thank you, Lisa! That is so very sweet of you to say!😊
I look forward to Tuesdays just to see your videos. So many great projects today but the standouts, for me, were the round shelves, dotted bud vase, and the textured clay base. Oh my gosh Sherry, you had me laughing with all those layers! It turned out great and looked like a piece that would be in a Victorian era farmhouse having been passed down for several generations.
Great dupe ideas. I really love the Tree Sketch one you did.
Greetings from San Francisco ❗️
I love the way you just get in there & make it happen! I wish I had a neighbor like you! The textured vases were very cool! I love the idea of music on my walls! With what you had on hand, you made it all work out! What a crafty gal you are❣️ Stay warm & safe Inside‼️🤩😻❣️
Смотрю всегда с удавольствием ваши творения ,вы умница ,золотые руки.Такие хорошие идеи рождаются в вашей голове ,слов нет просто ,это невероятно ,так держать!
Thank you! You are so sweet!😊
The lamp turned table is a masterpiece and all the other projects are amazing, so that’s that!!!
Yay, a new Sherry video today. What a treat to my tea break. Have a lovely week and I already liked it, before watching, knowing: I can be sure to love the content!
You are too sweet, Hildegard! I hope you are not disappointed and have a lovely tea!
@@CanterburyCottage Not disappointed at all, loved it. And thank you :-)
It’s cold in California, at least for us. 😂 55 degrees is cold here.🙈
I love the picture. It’s beautiful, Sherry.🥰
I could watch you EVERYDAY.
My favorites, the tree print and the side table made from a lamp base. You're a genius!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE VINTAGE BLUE AND WHITE PRINT ON THE LARGE VASE......
Omg. You are the most clever lady ever. I loved everyone of them!! Please don’t make me chose!! I did love hoe you turned the lamp into that adorable table and the lamp shade into a plant stand, plus using that harp!! Wow, brilliant ❤️❤️ Thank you!! 😊
The vase with the blue napkins is AWESOME!!
Sherry you knocked all of the high priced items out of the park with your wonderful recreations. Thank you for such great ideas.
So much! No item left behind! The plant stands were genius! Blessed and safe days!
Thank you, Alice!
Betty here.....I love your dupes! I can't believe how overpriced the Magnolia items are. I would much rather have your beautiful creations...kudos to Canterbury Cottage!
Thank you so much, Betty!🥰
I like your dupes better than the Magnolia high priced things. You are so talented.
the gem dotted bud vase is really cute. My favorite is the metal plant stands... something I have never thought about!
Good morning, Sherry! Whoa...look out Joanna Gaines, lol! You have nailed it again. These dupes are so beautiful, clever & budget friendly. I absolutely love the tree print ! The spotted vase , the paint transfer vases , and the lamp shade plant stand are genius. Thank you for sharing & inspiring, as always. - Bobbie xoxo Stay warm ❄❄❄
Good morning, sweet friend! I’m so glad you liked these projects! I am running errands today ahead of the snow storm. It is going to hit us worse than you, I believe. We are right on the line between 8’ - 12” or 12’ - 15”. Luckily, I have some larger painting projects lined up, so I’ll have plenty to keep me busy!
The hanging basket with shelves was my favorite. 😊.
I really liked that one, too! I wish I had found a nice brown basket. I thought I took a picture of the red one before I spray painted it white, but I guess I forgot because I couldn’t find it! 😜 But, because it was white, I was able to use caulk. With caulk you don’t have to worry about cutting the ends of the shelves at a perfect angle. (It was freezing in my garage, so I made my cuts as fast as possible! Had it been warmer, I would have taken my time to get the angles perfect.)
@@CanterburyCottage *Yes, Sherry...when your choices come down to having slightly-less-than-perfect wood cut angles to prevent frostbite 🥶 on the tip of your nose and your fingers due to FRIGID Midwestern temperatures and filling in those tiny gaps with joint compound for the perfect abutment - versus throwing caution to the wind and damaging or losing an appendage because you exposed your appendages beyond the safe limits of exposure...I will take the appendage protection protocol EVERY TIME, LOL‼️😁💕*
Oh ,,,everything you made I like better than Magnolia’s ,,thank you 🌷48 days till spring 🌸
Yay!🌷
I am totally fascinated with the different uses of a tall lamp stand. I had no idea you could make such cute plant stands out of them or even a trellis for the plants. My pothos will thank you 😄 I just love your videos and the craftiness you show by taking things apart and repurposing. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks so much! 😊 I am so glad you like them!
I had a clever comment all typed out and my laptop FROZE! hahaha how rude.
I really like the plant stands, bowls and trellises you made from things I see aallllll the time in thrift stores! We don't have craft/antique malls around here, I wish we did. If I make something, I have to try to sell it on FB Marketplace.
When you do your booth over for spring, could you give us a little tour?
Much love to you!!
Good morning, Kristina! I will try to do a booth update. It will motivate me because I have been neglecting it lately! Have you thought about selling online? If I didn’t already have a booth in a store with other lovely vendors, I think I would just open a little Etsy (or Squarespace) shop. In the long run, shipping is probably less time consuming than caring for a booth.
@@CanterburyCottage I did think of that about a year ago when I first started thrifting and reselling. I wasn't DIY'ing at the time. The thought of shipping terrified me and froze me in my tracks. Me no likey the nitty gritty hahaha xxoo
Love your projects, thought the wire plant stands were especially clever and successful. But I gasped when you painted over the nautical-themed clock face AND the mercury glass vase. They were both so great as-is!
I'm so glad I found your channel! This is what HGTV used to be about, and I've missed it! SO inspiring!
Thanks !😊
I love the table you made from the lamp
I am so with you about Gaines' style & her high priced - overpriced - merchandise. I've always looked, then shook my head & never bought. Your dups are such wonderful re-creations.
BTW we left frigid snowy ND for CA some years ago. Celebrated when we sold our snow blower. When we want snow, we go to the mountains of Lk Tahoe on both CA & NV sides.
PS 💕❤💖 the crocheted throw on the back of your couch. My MIL crocheted 1 that looks *exactly* like yours & I have hers.
Good morning, Jane! I am snowed in this morning, but for some reason, I love that thought! I thrifted that afghan, and I adore it. It smelled like a giant moth ball when I bought it! It is SO granny chic!
All your ideas in this video were wonderful but the table from the lamp was my favorite.
Fabulous as usual. I love the plant stands, trellises and the gold table.
Sherry, go to the head of the class. You nailed it with these dupes. As usual, I am in awe of your creativity and vision. Love each and every one. Love spending Tuesday mornings with you. ⭐
Great video. Looks like you had lots of fun with that vase 🤣
WOW! Amazing how you can get wonderful decor for more than half the price with a little creativity!! Great job! TFS 😊👍❤
I'm also live in the Midwest ..more snow ❄ 😑, and those continued freezing days..can't wait until Spring 🌷🌷
I like your versions so much better than the originals. You are so talented.
These are such great dupes. I love how you used lampshades & lamp parts to make stands & trellises. Thanks
Thank you, Karen! I think I am going to make a stand and trellis for a plant in my bedroom and paint it green!
In all honesty, I prefer most of your dupes!
I like the belt trick
Hi Sherry. You have so many creative ideas! Thank you for sharing all that you shared on this video. I cannot even pick a favorite. They were all beautifully done. Your ability to replicate ideas that you obtain from many sources is incredible!! Great job, this week. I love the final products you completed for this week's video! Your ability to bring creative ideas to share is amazing! Thank you!! ❤ 😃
I love every single one of your DIY's you did today. Your husband and son's should be very proud of you. You are so talented, I look forward to every Tues. morning to see what you are going to grace us with. Like always Thanks for sharing and keep them coming
Thank you so much, Barbara! Headed to my son’s house today to help him install some shelves!
Everything was great, as usual, but I think I loved the last vase that you did. I think you could call it “the vase of many layers”. Thanks again for your great ideas in DIYS and redoing thrift finds!
😊
Hi Sherry. Once again, you do not disappoint. I enjoy your dups. I cannot make myself pay those crazy prices. I thought my favorite project was the vase of many layers, but then I saw the tray/wall shelf. Definitely a tie between the 2 for me. Can't wait until next week!
The lamp shade flower frame is such a tremendous idea. I have one and almost give away. You are born to be an artist! Your works are never look cheap as well.
I totally agree with you about the prices that Joanna Gains asks for her items. I also love her style and was a devoted fan of her HGTV show Fixer Upper. I think that success has gone to her head.
Three little words. YOU ARE AMAZING
Sherry I love how they all came out I like them better than the originals the vase is georgeous they all are you did an amazing job. God bless! 💗💯😊
I believe the tree wall art is my fav. Gotta try that one for sure. Thanks Sherry!
Oh my lands! Can't wait to log off work later so I can start the wired lamp shade plant stands. Yay! Thank you, dear lady! 😘 I can't give you a favorite though, because you're my favorite. 🤭
Good morning, Kimberly! Wouldn’t it be fun to have three different styles/heights of wire lamp shades/plant stands in a small grouping?
totally!
Great video again. Thank you so much! Here in Germany it's nearly lunch-time when your videos apear. So I have nice lunch breaks every Tuesday. 😃
*Sherry, the tall lamp stand bases turned into plant 🪴 stands were my favorite - especially since I love gold metalics in my decor. I also think they would be beautiful in my home (and many other people's homes 🏡) in green and in blue - but I would have to break out the Antique Gold Rub 'N Buff to make those swirly etruscan details sparkle ✨ 😉 ❣🤣🥰 So MANY PROJECTS TO L💚VE TODAY‼️ And at a fraction of the price, too❣😘🥰*
Всегда у вас что то новое,интересное и красивое! Добрая фея Шерри!👍
Wow Sherry ! You are so talented! Most the projects you did look better than Joannas stuff 👍👍👍😁😁😁 So creative and such a god given talent 🙋🏻♂ Todd
